Greater than one weekScanner works well, can be a bit of a challenge to program, but on the whole, easy to operate.

Greater than one weekOnly thing I dislike is it doesnt charge the battery while in use. Otherwise its great for p25 systems and normal analog systems.

> 3 dayGREAT scanner, once programmed. (Id recommend FreeScan ($0) and d/l freqs from Radio Reference.) My only complaint is the sound quality of this unit, however, it does have a very small speaker, so great sound quality cant be expected. Id highly recommend this unit. (I also have the Uniden BCD996P2)

> 3 dayOmg programming this scanner is insanely difficult took me 30 days to figure this out finally got the scanner to work and its amazing scanner. Really needs to come with a step by step software would have made programming much easier I give this scanner a 5 star for overall quality and a 1 Star for programming and setting up the scanner

> 3 dayI payed full price for this scanner which is listed as new but it is clearly not new and on top of that it says batteries included both in description and in the manual, but there are no batteries and the box is smashed a little and there are scratches on the screen. The manuals are dirty like someone has handled them a lot. Also the twist tie that is on the USB cable looks like it came off a bread wrapper it is not what they use in packaging these scanners. I will see if it works after writing this review. The Scratches are hard to see when I took pictures but the slightly damaged box and bread wrapper twist tie are easily seen. There was no plastic protective bag on the scanner and no protective film to peal off of the screen.

> 3 dayThis is a good scanner. Too bad it eats batteries. Maybe 4 hours of usage with one set. I use rechargables otherwise Ill be spending a fortune on batteries.

Greater than one weekIts a P25 Phase 1 and 2 scanner and appears to work as advertised. Proscan software works for programming purposes with this radio and the mobile version, the BCD996P2. It takes only two batteries instead of the three that the BCD396XT required and will require recharging before you think. Keep an extra set of batteries available. Also, no backlit keypad but the display is backlit. Its very different than what it replaces, the BCD396XT. Uniden does include a mini-USB cable for programming and power purposes. The required cable driver is available on the internet. If you need a Phase 2 P25 handheld scanner this one is a winner.

> 3 daySome advice based on my experience, my opinion only . I am amateur radio operator, so I am familiar with frequency databases, and programming radios to hear what I want. 1. The only way to go is to use the free scanner programming software. 2. sign up up for an account on Radio Reference. 3. Use the software to pull the freqs you want form the RR web-site. Once programmed, the BCD325P2 is great to use. Has good sensitivity. This is the best scanner Ive owned. 4. Invest in extra NiMH batteries and a charger. The BCD325 only charges when it is turned off and uses a timer to prevent overcharging which may result in the built-in charger shutting off before the batteries are fully charged resulting in short battery life. Pay attention ! Its a very good scanner.

21-04-2025This is a really awesome tool, very powerful. I do wish there was an option to power it from a USB cable for when Im in the car, as it goes through batteries at a good clip, but thats the trade-off for having so much power in such a portable form-factor I think.
