Hard to program. Tried putting in codes for police, fire. And ambulance. Would not take them. Manual scan never picked them up.

Disappointed with this unit. I bought it to tune in to my local airport while @ home or driving for quick flight. I live a mile away from my local airport and I barely hear the tower or the ATIS. Quality is very cheap. I returned the unit and bought an old Radio Shack scanner from EBay. Much better.

GOOD VALUE..

The Bearcat SC30R scanner fits in your hand and is very light weight. The learning curve is moderate as any to learn and I was programming in under a day. This scanner is a great first time scanner to own, you will not be disappointed.

I liked how brand new it looked and worked. I have nothing bad to write about it.

This low-cost scanner is easy to operate and the included computer interface makes programming frequencies in very simple. Battery takes too long to charge, but that may be due to the quality of batteries installed. Very handy for work.

My mom wanted this to listen to. She don’t get out much because of the corona virus, so this gives her some kind of entertainment on what’s going on in the outside world of her town. Made her happy, and she could set it up herself, which was my main concern because I’m in a different state than her.
