My 8 year old daughter loves painting and requested just this set. She loved it and so far the dolls have turned out great.

VERY very very impressed with these nesting dolls. The wood is smooth and will be easy to paint. Sturdiness of them is better than some of the more expensive nesting dolls. I love that there are 7 - the more the merrier!

Im making 2 sets for Christmas gifts and cant believe how smooth easy to work with these dolls are! Already finished my first set. I havent made them before but it was so much fun creating these! Really excited to start my 2nd one. Ive been in love with this project!

The wood is smooth and fun to draw and color on. It will make a nice gift if I can part with my handy work.

This is the 6th set of nesting dolls Ive bought for my grandkids to paint. All the others, from various other vendors, required lots of sanding prior to painting in order to smooth them out and make them easy enough to open and close the dolls. This set required no sanding at all, and was ready to paint. I recommend these.

These arrived super fast and Im pleased with the quality. Theyre nicely sanded, fit together snugly, but not too tight, and were clearly made with care. My daughter is painting them for me, since shes an artist I cant wait to see what she creates, I know it wont be traditional or run-of-the-mill, shes very creative so Im sure it will be lovely...and made much easier by the good quality of these nesting dolls.

What i like about this matryoshka is how smooth it feels when painted on and how they leave you instructions on how to make sure you seal it correctly when you out them back together, and how to keep them to stay good as new. Which is understandable because it handmade and its natural wood and its kind of fragile but all nesting dolls are. But the package, the info of the person who made them, the care instructions and how smooth the design feels is perfect for painting and worth the money. I highly recommend this brand over every naked nesting doll set Ive found.

The smallest of the dolls are very small; could easily get lost if not careful. Smooth, lightweight. no obvious blemishes.

I decided to add an update. Should have done this some time ago but finally getting around to it. I used artist-grade colored pencils and Micron to create my set and loved this wood to work on. Both the pencils and pen go on well because to wood is so well prepared. I am know going to get another set and make some more! Each piece of the Matryoshka is sanded beautifully and there are no knots or glaring imperfections. They are already lightly marked with a small pencil line so you know where the tops and bottoms should line up. They were packed in bubble wrap in a very nice and sturdy box. I am a colored pencil artist and am finishing a set that has wood thats nowhere near the quality of this one so Im looking forward to working with this. I would definitely recommend this product!

The smallest one is very tiny barely 1/2 inch high so be aware. Otherwise great quality; I cant wait to paint them.
