I did not think there would be that much difference in thermometers but there is! The things that make this thermometer superior are: The case is so easy to put on and off the thermometer. The most excellent part is that it flashes a light so you know when the temperature is registered and when you turn it on it does 3 different color light flashes so you know it is working well. This thermometer was a little bit more expensive but it was DEFINITELY worth it. I am going to give them for stocking stuffers this Christmas.
