Amazon suggests buying LR 44 batteries for this thermometer right on its main sales page. This is NOT the right type and you won’t be able to use them. It’s a mistake. Thermometer is good and fast.

Finally! This is the thermometer I’ve been looking for. It’s quick, accurate, and easy to read. I bought two inaccurate forehead thermometers and one other cheaply made oral one before finding this one. Thank you, Vicks!

I love this thermometer it’s easy to use and I feel the reading is correct.

I prefer this brand because its fast.

Advantages of this thermometer is that it reads quickly (within 8 seconds) and the red yellow green display is instant feedback. Im assuming it is accurate but I haven’t tested it against another thermometer.

Ill be honest: I threw this onto an order so I could round up and get same day shipping on something, so my expectations were fairly low, but this is far more useful than I expected! I gave it to my parents, whose eyesight isnt terrific anymore, and who therefore have trouble reading the small LCD displays on most digital thermometers these days. This ones display is huge, and, even better, it has a color-coded backlight that gives a hint of whether the temperature is in a good range or not. Thats not the only thing you want to go by, but at least it helps you realize that if its lighting up gold or red, thats not as good as if its lighting up green. Even better is just the fact that it lights up really clearly when its done, so for those are hard of hearing and struggle to hear the high-pitched beeping of thermometers like this, you can glance down (this assumes youre doing an armpit reading and I wont guess where youre looking for other readings but it might also be awkward to hear from there?) and once it lights up, you know that, its done with its measurement. All sorts of features I never thought Id enjoy in a thermometer!

Very easy to use and it only takes maybe 10 seconds for a read out. Plus, it has three colors to let you know if you are in normal range (green). low fever (yellow) or high fever (red).

We had an earlier version of this Vicks thermometer, which was not good, but this current model is much improved. It is easy to use and read. Reasonably priced.

My old thermometer was not reliable so I bought this one. It’s easy to use, easy to read. I hope the battery does run out quickly

This an update on the previous review below that was posted Sept 27. The package miraculously appeared on my porch when another Amazon package arrived. No further explanation, no change in tracking info. The product is as described and functions properly. Product never received. Package tracking says it was delivered by Amazon and personally handed over at my address. Not true! The part about personally handing it over has since disappeared from the package tracker
