> 3 dayIve had bad experiences with digital thermometer over the years. Basically they were inaccurate, would malfunction after a few uses or the batteries would die right before I needed to use it. Im grateful that I still had an old school glass mercury thermometer during those times. Its accurate, no batteries needed but yes its a potential hazard to oneself and the environment if it breaks. However, think of all of the pollution from button batteries with production to disposal, and accidental ingestion by children! Anyway Im really glad I ordered this one. Its accurate compared to the glass thermometer reading, very quick and easy to read. I wont be using the plastic covers on it but will instead save them for my old thermometer in case I need to use it. I also planned ahead and ordered some cheap thermometer batteries on Amazon to have on hand in case this one dies right when I need it. Update: I did more comparison testing with my mercury thermometer, and to get the most accurate reading with the Vicks thermometer make sure that its far back underneath your tongue; otherwise you will NOT get an accurate reading.

> 3 dayThank goodness this thermometer takes just 8 seconds to register. I use it to take temperature of sick kittens and cats. It remains on and ready for the time it takes to get the probe in place in a squirmy cat. I have a separate thermometer for my own use and it has worked well for many years and is easy to replace the battery

> 3 dayI’ve only used this twice, but absolutely love it. Very easy to use and read, and even has a color change on it for even easier verification. Very fast too.

Greater than one weekWe have 4 of these scattered around our house as we use often (child has a condition). They are slightly off each other (usually by 0.1-0.3 degrees, but some times as much as 1.0, which is annoying) but generally consistent for each device (so we have numbered ours and try to stick to using one). Super easy for our child to use and easy to see readings and we can turn back on to see last reading of child doesn’t report it to us. They don’t seem to work as well once battery replaced - mind you, that could be an issue with the replacement battery which we haven’t tested yet. For the price and ease of use for a child, we’ll stick with these.

> 3 dayI think this is the best digital thermometer I have ever bought. It is sturdy, accurate, does not take long to register and it is easy to read with my old eyes.

> 3 daySure yeah, seems like a great thermometer. Big numbers, useful colours, and a clear plastic protective case to keep it in. GREAT! BUT: whoever made the genius call to save a few $ by including a low battery: you should be fired. With all the work put into the great packaging, and solid product engineering (seems well made), it’s all for nothing when I turn it on the first time and it immediately reads “Lo.” I would have expected more from Vicks, but it seems the times are a changing. I guess it’s a price motivation. Sure it’s cheap, but with something like this it FEELS cheap. Do better, Vicks.
