> 24 hourThe change filter light came on after a month of usage, whereas the original filters lasted for several months. I use the machine for vegetarian only and I baby it. No Orange or grapefruit rinds, I chop up my root scraps (carrots, celery, and the like). Unfortunately, I think I’m stuck with these filters.

> 24 hourNothing to dislike about the replacement filters - the price perhaps? But I knew what that would be before purchasing the FoodCycler. I like getting a warning that the filters need replacing and thanks to Amazon Prime there is no downtime in ordering, receiving, replacing, and using the FoodCycler again.

> 24 hourI finally took out the originals and put in my new filters. The red filter light came back on after only 10 days of use. I had projected my next change for 6 months or more.

> 24 hourThe Change Filter light was still ON even after changing the new filter.

> 24 hourThese are original replacements and work just the way the ones that came with the machine did.

> 24 hourFilters are filled with standard activated charcoal pellets. Twist or pry off the top carefully to keep from spreading pellets everywhere. Replace pellets with pellets sold in bulk on Amazon or wash pellets with detergent, rinse and dry in convection oven for fifteen minutes at 200 degrees fahrenheit. Otherwise discarding the plastic filter cylinders is counterproductive to the goal of recycling food waste and protecting the environment. If you dont want to reuse the pellets, put them in your compost bin or directly in your garden.

> 24 hourKeeps the stink from permeating the kitchen but I definitely do not replace as frequently as suggested. We are only two in our house so not running it more than once a week.

> 24 hourThese do a great job of stopping the funky smells that would otherwise come out of the foodcycler, but they dont last long enough to justify the cost of replacements. Instead I suggest you get some granulated activated carbon and refill them yourself! For the same cost youll get enough carbon to refill these a half dozen times. The only mildly tricky part is prying the tops off the first time, but after that its easier. I throw the spent carbon in with my foodcycler waste.
