The change filter light came on after a month of usage, whereas the original filters lasted for several months. I use the machine for vegetarian only and I baby it. No Orange or grapefruit rinds, I chop up my root scraps (carrots, celery, and the like). Unfortunately, I think I’m stuck with these filters.

Nice to have a replacement set. Now I can pry open the ones that came with the unit and recharge them with new charcoal now. Constantly buying replacements isn’t really necessary but also a cheap alternative.

Great product... Every little bit helps my recycler... Would be good if I could recycle ♻️ the filter also...

When I first got the cycler, I was concerned about this need to replace filters every 3 months. Especially since I run it inside. it had me on the fence. Went ahead and purchased it and I use regularly, probably once every 7-10 days and the filter light JUST came on surprisingly after purchasing it in Oct. 2020. Added new filters and can smell , or not smell rather, a clear difference with replacing filters. Replacing once a year for $25? I can swing that.

These are oem units so they are exactly what I needed.

Our original filters that came with our foodcycler lasted a good 3 months. I think that they’re supposed to last for 6 I think. These replacements are lasting for 2 weeks at most. They seem to be the exact same thing, so I’m not sure what the issue is. I guess part of it is that we’re generating a lot of compost while my mother in law is around and we run it daily. They are easy to open so I think that I’m going to try to find some activated charcoal pellets and refill them myself. I’ve already tried “recharging” the pellets by setting them spread out in the sun with noticeable decrease in odor but that doesn’t seem to help once composting starts again.

I love Vitamix FoodCycler so much. I have been using it every 2, 3 days for 20 months now. And I wasnt sure when to change the filters; I totally forgot about it. But last week it suddenly started smelling really bad. Then I realized that I need to change the filters. I got this order, delivered quicker than expected, and priced better than regular price. I replaced it and used FoodCycler tonight, and there were no more bad smell anymore. How simple is that! Replacing this is pretty simple and intuitive.
