Warm & Natural Twin Cotton Batting

> 3 dayIm making my first quilt... I was going to order poly-fil batting but a friend (and quilting veteran) advised me to buy a small amount of it from Walmart first (partly to practice quilting on and partly to preview the quality)... She told me cotton is the way to go, but I had read that synthetic would be warmer... I got a small amount of synthetic batting and tried to practice with it, and I ended up ordering this Warm company cotton batting for my actual quilt... heres my comparison: Synthetic (NOT this product): The batting thickness was very inconsistent - extremely thin in places (consistent with the reviews) and bunched up where it was folded... this bunching was not fixable. It seemed like poly-fil (like for pillows) had been rolled out into layers and I could very easily rip the batting up into pieces. It was also difficult to cut because of this. The whole sheet was translucent. Warm and Natural (THIS product): This is like a blanket by itself - not translucent, and even thickness throughout. Thin enough to be easy to work with, but dense and obviously very WARM! It would not be possible to rip it in half with my hands, and it cut easily with sheers like any other thick fabric. I am SO GLAD I listened to my friend and got the cotton. It was the same price as the synthetic, easier to work with, and very obviously of a MUCH higher quality.

> 3 dayUsually love this batting but this bag has a defect in the batting. Area where there’s no batting. Not good for my quilt. Should get a refund.

> 3 dayI use this batting in quilts that I made for my great grandchildren. Makes them just the right weight for the kids and they love them. I will continue to use this batting.

> 3 dayFirstvtime using this batting & I was very pleased with the results. I made a baby quilt and used this batting. I did not want to use polyester because I had read that if there is a house fire small children with quilts generally grab them for comfort and the polyester ones catch fire much quicker/easier than cotton AKA much less safe for the child. I used this for the baby quilt and the finished quilt had a very nice thickness. Exactly as I had hoped. It was thin yet warm and once the quilt is washed a few times it will be super comfy. Highly recommend.

> 3 dayArrived on time as expected. Quality is perfect. Same product as I purchase in store at same price as Walmart. Cheaper than another well known fabric store.

> 3 dayDoesnt come out of the needleholes when quilting. Perfect for quilts - they can be used in the summer or the winter and the temperature is good either way. Lays flat - I use this both inside of the quilt sandwich as well as nailed to the wall to create a design wall that I lay quilt blocks on. Works great!

Greater than one weekWarm Company Twin Size Batting: I bought this for batting for placemats. I wanted something thin, not fluffy, and enough for a double layer if needed, plus, leftover batting for other projects. (The small packaged batting doesnt go very far and is more expensive per yard.) I washed it, but it didnt shrink much. Just cut off a section equal to the total needed for the placemats and soaked it in clean, warm water. Then I rolled it in a towel to press out the water and dried it on a rack. It handles nicely, although cutting off the section for the placemats was a bit challenging. Theres a small percentage of poly in it. 11/29/17 - I ended up doubling the batting and have enough left for at least one more set of four placemats (3 in all, plus some extra). 12/08/17 - Bought another twin-sized package for making a table runner and more placemats. 01/07/18 - Bought another twin-sized package for making placemats and table runners. Just a little left over for making test quilt sandwiches.
