It works seamlessly with my Mac.

Every time you click to view data on this storage device, expect a 10 second or more delay. Big deal? Well, after you click for your D: drive about 50 times, youll realize that it is very annoying that this thing has to spin up every time you need to access your files. It becomes painful.

Im a photographer and needed a storage device to work off of other than a portable hard drive which is extremely unreliable and slower than a desktop-based hard drive. With that, I ordered the 10TB WD Elements and dont know why I didnt make this purchase sooner. Its very quiet and very fast - fast enough to scan through the photos and make edits as necessary. Sure, its not as fast as an SSD but no way can you purchase (at the moment) a single SSD-based drive that holds 10TB. And even if one did exist, you are talking about a price that is potentially in the thousands of dollars. My plan is to purchase another one to use as a backup for my primary 10TB.

I got this USB Drive to perform Time Machine Backups of my MacBook Air M2. There is plenty of storage to backup the 1Tb laptops hard drive. The only downside is that the connector is USB-3, so I have to use a multi-port adapter to connect the USB-3 to the laptop via the Thunderbolt port. I do like that this drive has a separate AC adapter, rather than drawing its power via the laptop itself.

It worked as expected and it is plug and play. I will recommend it.

My hard drive is still chugging along. It is a price and storage bs speed trade off. Great value for the size. Hard to compete with solid state but so much more value

Works exactly like I would expect a Western Digital product would. Ive trusted them for years. Well worth the price.

Using it for computer backups, mostly.

Bought 22 TB, or 22000 GB, connected to my PC, see the capacity as 20 TB, if 1 TB = 1000 GB, then there are 2000 GB that are missing, if 1 TB = 1024 GB, which makes it 22000/1024 = 21.484375 TB, roughly 21.5 TB, then still 1.5 TB is missing. Lets assume that most of the laptops today arrive with 1TB HDD or SSD, some with 2 TB, that means, the capacity that can be used to backup the whole laptop is missing from the advertised 22 TB HDD. That is false advertising, considering the recent class action suit against WD for selling SMR instead of CMR HDD to customers that does not look good.
