> 3 dayI have been using Western Digital hard drives since the late 90s and have experienced a very low failure rate. I use this drive in a security camera NVR. It records HD video 24/7 without issue. This is my first Purple series drive but appears to be as good of quality as other WD drives.

> 3 dayI needed more storage for my NVR, the manufacturer suggested another brand but had not tested this version. I saw that it was a performer in the testing data and after install I have had zero issues. The NVR interface was able to increase my storage and I am able to record much more.

> 3 dayInstalled this WD Purple 4TB in my Lorex DVR (from 2016) that had a 2TB WD Purple. The drive doubled recording capacity while still keeping the performance. The newer drive has 256mb cache, vs. the older unit had 64mb cache, which means it would perform better on writing/reading, with lower heat and longer MTBF.. all in all the 256 MB WD Purple drive is a win win.. Must have if you are upgrading your DVR / NVR storage.
