> 3 dayI am a nature photographer and routinely toss my tripod-mounted 500mm lens onto my shoulder as a hike. A big plus for me was the weight savings over my previous setup (Sidekick and ballhead), but I was worried that it might loosen from the top of my tripod as I hiked around. Over several weeks of extensive use I never had a bit of trouble. It attached and detached easily, held my lens/camera securely, and never loosened unexpectedly. I am very impressed and look forward to using this on future trips.

> 3 dayWorth every dime. Bought a cheaper gimbal and hated it. The Wimberley is beyond good -- its wondrous and has made a huge difference when using my Canon 500 mm lens. As sturdy as an anvil. Dont waste your money on cheap knock-offs.

> 3 dayAmazing how you can leave it in any position and it stays put, yet you are able to smoothly and quickly move it on to the next position. Or easily and quickly adjust tension making it harder to move. Balances perfectly with my following setup: Nikon D500 + Nikon 300mm F4 PF + Nikon TC-14Eiii

> 3 dayWimberly lives up to its name and reputation. I bought this gimbal to replace an aged and worn out Jobu, which I bought from a friend who bought it used from someone else. The Wimberly operates so smoothly and is very well built. First time in the field with it, mounted on a Manfrotto carbon fiber tripod, and I knew Id made a wise purchase. I highly recommend it!

> 3 dayI was a little hesitant to purchase this because of the price. After using this for several months I cant believe that I hadnt purchased this until now. The smoothness in tracking wildlife with an 800mm lens isnt comparable to anything Ive used before. Precision product and incredibly well built. It is a real value at the price. I highly recommend to anyone looking to shoot wildlife or sports action with long lenses.

Greater than one weekIm using this with a 500mm lens and flash using various Wimberley brackets and adapters. Its awesome and highly recommended but Im docking a star for two small issues... 1) with my new, lighter weight 500mm lens and attached flash and extender I cannot get a perfect balance. I suspect the issue is that the center of gravity is a bit high even with the clamp all the way down. If the arm was an inch or so longer I think balance could be achieved. All that said, its not *bad* its just not perfect. 2) this is nit-picky but the action is not as smooth as it might be, Im sure due to the bearing system used. You could argue you dont want a friction-less system with all that expensive gear swinging around, but Id like to be able to control that with a tension adjustment.
