Supports SFP+ 10Gb speeds in a Netgear switch. Great value. We will see if they last.

I am giving this 4 stars because Im not entirely sure the modules are at fault, it could be incompatibility or some other hardware involved in my setup. These only seem to work after re-seating many times, there may be something I did to get them working, but Im not sure what it was at this point. I am using the same module at both ends. 1 on my Mikrotik CRS317, and 1 on my Mellanox ConnectX-3 (Dell OEM if that matters) connected by a 75 foot Cat7 cable. I have given up trying to figure out what the issue is, and Im hoping it just continues to work for now, until I can budget for a different solution. I will be keeping these, I think, just frustrated because they work just fine until I remove them and re-insert. Will update my review if there are any further developments. I would recommend using fiber or DAC cables instead if your situation doesnt warrant copper (mine does).

Just plugged them in to the two SFP ports in my 26 port netgear switch (GS724TPP) and then plugged in two ethernet cables...thats it! Worked perfectly. One cable came from my router, the other went to my security camera NVR. Now Im left with 24 ports to load up 17 more cameras and anything else I need.

Need two SPF+ to enable 10G to my Ubiquiti switch for Proxmox. Install the transceiver and the switch auto-negotiate the 10 G connection immediately. Happy with the easy to install and also a good deal.

As of 1 week of operation, the optics work great in my Netgear NS510TX switches. I am not experiencing over-heating or connection problems as other reviews state. Switch port stats dont show any errors or drops. Time will tell how the optics due over the long haul.

After finally getting around to fixing my config files in my cisco WS 3650 I found out this is not a compatible device and because it took so long this is an expensive piece of GARBAGE

Weve acquired a quite a lot of 10Gb SFP+ RJ45 Transceivers (asf-10g-t), but the problem is that theyre always reporting that the link is up when its actually not. This is a fundamental flaw, as a server/switch wouldnt know if the layer 1 link is down and it needs to not route any more traffic through it, but instead it doesnt drop the link while it leaves bot ends disconnected. I can see this causing a bigger issue when trying to implement link aggregation or if I have anything critical, or if I dont want to be there 24/7 because I dont have the corner stone of networking diagnostics anymore: is the network cable plugged in?. Im not sure if its even worth it to workaround this by adding a probe or something similar on an upper layer (lets say a ping), but this shouldnt be the case for an SFP that costs $50+ USD, and I have no plans on getting under the hood of a vSphere environment or a UniFi controller to fix this design issue.

This review is for the SFP Copper RJ45 Transceiver Gigabit Module 1000Base-T Compatible for Cisco GLC-T/SFP-GE-T, M... product from H!Fiber. These modules have some connector issues where the RJ45 male connectors do not always click into the female receptacle on the module. No audible click either and the cables often do not seat and *will* pull out if you don’t wiggle them into place. I experienced the same thing on 2 other brands in the same price point as well (Ipolex and 10Gtek) and yes, I tried other Ethernet cables - same result. They do not work on the Mikrotik CRS305 product line. RouterOS reports these modules (and another brand in the same price point) as OEM SFP-GE-T devices. I tried them on RouterOS v7.1rc3(testing) and on v6.48.4 (stable). Same result. The only ones I have had zero issues with are QSFPTEK 10GBASE-T SFP+ modules which is unfortunate because I dont need 10Gb RJ45 for my use case and they are about $44/module at the time of writing this. I am going to cross post this review on the other devices I purchased and tested as well.
