20-11-2024So far its good! Seems like a high quaility and robust shock cord. I am wondering about UV longevity... hopefully it will last for a couple years outdoors...only time will tell. I will repost after a while (if I remember).

> 3 dayI used the 3/16” Dacron rope to support a 160/80/40/20/15/10 meter multi band wire antenna made AWG 12 copper wire. Each end of the antenna is supported using the Rope and the center of the antenna is also supported by the rope run through a pulley to raise and lower the antenna. The antenna only weighs 20 pounds and is mounted as a flat top at 40 feet above the ground. It’s been up for almost 2 months now and seems to be supported well even in heavy winds. The rope is easy to work with and ties easily into knots.

18-11-2024If you’ve ever strung wire into the sky to listen to the world—use this stuff (it’s tough and lasts for years, if not decades). As a matter of fact, I think the world is held together by this type cord.

> 3 dayNot hard to work with, and plenty left over for other tasks. Well see how durable it is in the desert sun after a few years. So far (1mo), no color or fibrous transfer to clean clothes. I might have gone one gauge thicker for the clothesline just because, but this thickness is roughly equivalent to what it replaced and works fine.

> 3 dayFor general use guying small antenna masts and hanging wire antennas. Works very well and so far has been very durable and without too much stretch.

Greater than one weekThis is the support line you should be using! Very strong and does not get snagged if you have to throw/ pull it through tree limbs. I have some dipoles that have been up over 10 years here in NE with Sun, ice, humidify, lots of wind. Just keeps on ticking!
