Just put this in to run my IP cameras and it works great! No setup needed. Fit in my rack and powered up the cameras with no problem. Note that the 2 uplink ports are SFP so if you plan to use vlan mode you will have to use a transceiver of some kind to link to your network. Im currently using one of the regular ports to uplink but ordered an SFP link cable since my main switch also has SFP ports. If the 2 uplinks were combo SFP / GB Ethernet ports it would have been 5 stars easy. As it is, it works perfect for me... but if you dont know what SFP ports are look that up before deciding to use this switch.

Some updates: The fanless design. When a constant sound just disappears, only then do you realize the level of quiet you can achieve. I didnt realize how much fan noise my old POE switch created. Now, if only I could somehow reduce/remove the fan noise from my NVR. The SFP ports. As far as I can tell, these ports are not meant for tandem/redundant use. Meaning, you cant run both SFP ports to the same device. There are some devices out there that do have redundant ports but in my use and testing, this switch is not one of them. You really only need the SFP ports if you are using the VLAN mode. If not, just use one of the 16 ports as an uplink. You can also find a cheap SFP RJ45 module (youd only need one--I got two unnecessarily) for your uplink and still have 16 available POE ports. And even if you use a SFP port for an uplink, VLAN is optional. Im only using 9 POE devices so I cant speak on the power delivery. Its more than enough for my current setup. Ive only been using it for a couple months or so and just cleaned up the cabling. Added some shielded CAT8 cables (overkill). Its been working great. Also no changes in temperature in my cabinet. Its also been colder than usual but still the cabinet has the same airflow in a climate controlled building so no temperature change, for me, is a good thing. Having the 2 SFP ports is an upgrade for me but I didnt expect and dont see a performance difference. I suppose I need faster equipment to be able to see a difference. Or speeds just hit a ceiling at my (low) level. It was a simple swap... As simple as unplugging and plugging cables can be. Nothing more to add really. Its a switch and it does what it says.

My previous 8 port POE fried and purchased this switch. When cameras didnt boot up, vendor immediately tested and sent replacement switch which arrived quickly. Turns out there is nothing wrong with this switch as my cameras were fried as well. Vendor was super nice and will definitely do business with them in the future.

So to get this out of the way first, I did not have an immediate need for PoE, but was looking to expand my switch capacity in my basement in preparation for eventually getting my cameras and knowing they will be wired down to the basement. The unit came packaged well, looks good, and appears to be of solid construction. One downside to me is I would have liked to have wall-mounts on the bottom of the unit so that I could easily hang it from the wall. To me this is the only reason I wont be giving this a 5 star rating at this point. It seems like a bit of an oversight to me. To be perfectly clear, the listing didnt say that it could be mounted, but I guess I had an expectation for virtually every device like this to have mount points on the bottom. I replaced my 5 port switch that was being fed by my fiber router, which also connects to two ethernet feeds to my mesh network. I havent noticed any sort of decrease in performance, no weirdness like dropped packets or anything. But then again, a switch is pretty much a switch, so I wouldnt have expected to have anything work any worse or better in terms of ethernet switching. Once we get the cameras ordered and installed and use this for PoE I will update the review.

Im using this for my POE cameras. Ive only got eight connected to it so far and have no issues. Im using a zone alert PC instead of an NVR.

No issues at all with this unmanaged POE switch. Its even wall mountable! The 48v Active POE switch injects the correct amount of voltage to my PDs. It powers up my extenders with no problems. Im happy with it. Great product! Completely plug and play :D I recommend this switch if youre looking at this one.

Great POE switch. Works seamlessly when connected. All devices are fully functional with this switch. Wish I had brought this earlier.

The Real HD ethernet network switch is like many others; it works to share internet access with multiple networked devices. Unlike many others, however, this switch can also electrically power its connected devices. After I figure out what 48V surveillance cameras to buy, I’ll be mounting them on the corners of my house and networking and powering them with this Real HD switch. This switch can also be used to power network access points and VOIP phones giving me the ability to expand my network further. While the Real HD switch does its basic switching function well, I was happy to find that its metal enclosure also keeps the switch cool during use. A plus in my mind is its built-in power supply. Most inexpensive switches use an external power supply that takes up an entire wall outlet. This switch occupies one 120V wall socket leaving the other available for powering additional electrical devices. The economical Real HD 4 port PoE switch does everything I buy an ethernet switch for plus it gave me a powered network expansion option that I’m taking advantage of.
