> 3 dayMy son received this book over a year ago at age two. He LOVES it. We have to read at least one Curious George story every night. All eight stories are wonderful Curious George tales (Takes a Train, Visits a Toy Store, and the Dump Truck, Goes Camping, and the Birthday Surprise, Goes to a Costume Party, Visits the Library, in the Big City). To address one CG reviewers concern, neither George nor the Man with the Yellow Hat smoke in any of these stories. This collection has held up well with the usage and is a great price. I highly recommend it.

> 3 dayMy son loves it, just as expected. Its a nice sturdy book with pages that are thick enough that they arent ripping easily (he likes to turn the page from close to the seam instead of the outside edge of the page).

> 3 dayOur entire family love Curious George. This set is a wonderful collection of the stories. I also recommend other sets (the blue and yellow covers).

> 3 dayFirst, I must admit that I was never a Curious George fan as a child. I remember the other children taking the books from the library -- they loved them -- but I just didnt see what was so great. When my daughter was born, a friend of ours bought this book as a present. I didnt read it to her until she was about 2, and that was only at her request. She is now 4 and she still loves the stories, and believe it or not, theyve grown on me. Many people have complained that these stories and illustrations are not the originals, but thats just fine with me. It didnt take away from my daughters enjoyment either. If you are an avid fan of the original Curious George, this may not be for you; however, I enjoy it and think the stories are perfect for bedtime. And, its not like my opinion counts the most -- my daughters does -- and she is asking for more books like this one!

Greater than one weekFirst thing to know: these are not the originals. The front cover of the book is deceptive - its only once youre inside that you realize these stories are in the style of Margaret and H. A. Rey. That said, the stories are fun and theyre all collected in one spot, giving your youngster the feeling theyre holding a big, real book, one that requires use of a bookmark. The artwork is fine, though fairly different from the originals, and the stories, as pointed out by many a reviewer, are formulaic: George and the Man begin an activity, the Man disappears, Georges curiosity gets him into mostly mild trouble, Georges curiosity finds a solution, the Man reappears, it all ends happily. Frankly, if youre even a decent drawer, you can write your own George books using this formula. Curious George Builds a House. Curious George Takes a Trip in the LHC. Curious George Runs for President. Anyway, if your kid is tired of the originals, this is a decent follow-up.
