> 3 dayVery pleased, Still works flawlessly. The picture included is a comparison with my Acer 1440p 144hz TN panel that cost bout the same as the entire laptop itself, as bunch of the other reviews suggest, I highly recommend getting another 4gb ram (as 2gb goes towards the onboard graphics) , and another drive for more storage. Also follow the steps to get Windows out of S-mode for free. Its a nice simple machine that so far has done everything from web-surfing, e-mails, photo editing, video conferencing, and light gaming. I would definitely buy this again if I ever need a second laptop.

> 3 dayWhen shopping for a laptop, there are a lot of options and I usually tell people who ask for my advice to try and get the best you can afford...meaning, try not to cheap out on this kind of equipment if you can help it because in the long run, youll find theres better satisfaction and enjoyment when your computer can handle whatever you end up using it for. That said, tech heads like me have a thing for diamonds in the rough and seeing what kind of performance we can squeeze out of a machine. Acer has one of the better line ups of affordable laptops with a system for all kinds of budgets and Aspire 5 with Ryzen and Vega 3 is at the very bottom of their entry level devices. Ill go straight to the point here, at the retail price of $350 you are mostly getting a nice display. The rest is probably going to be unacceptable to anyone looking for a decent level of performance to do...well mostly anything. Its not going to run video editing, video capture, or higher end games well, if at all. You dont want this as your Media Creation device as it just doesnt have enough power to handle that kind of stuff. Word processing, spreadsheets, Internet browsing, and youtube videos/TV streaming are what this laptop is mainly geared for. The only way youre really going to open up the possibilities for this laptop is to, as other reviews suggest, get out of Windows S mode, and invest in adding more RAM and installing a second 2.5 SSD. All of these things can be done fairly easily by most people and Acer even has videos online that show you how to handle the hardware part. I ended up spending an additional $120 for 2 sticks of 8 gb RAM and a 1tb SSD so my total cost (after Black Friday deal) was just under $380. For not much more money than many Chromebook models (yuck), I got a solid travel laptop with Windows 10 that I can use as a secondary computer and not worry that I spent a ton of money on. You can even play games on this thing--provided you install the dedicated graphics drivers from AMD (called Adrenaline). I was able to get Red Dead Redemption Online running, albeit not particularly well. But that the game runs at all is kind of amazing considering even high end PCs have had problems with it. Overall, I can see why this is a top seller on Amazon, but in the end, if you want an out of the box experience that just gets you up and running quickly, you should really look at upping your budget. If you want a backup laptop for travelling, and are willing to put in a bit more money and time into getting the performance up to speed (literally), then this is probably best laptop value on Amazon right now.

> 3 dayThis replaces an 8-10 year old laptop. Nice big huge screen. Very Fast. I did order the 8GB memory and replaced it. About 8 screws to remove off bottom- see photo. It’s not too hard to do but it’s also not easy either. The bottom does not fall off. Be careful - you have to carefully pry open the bottom- you can break if you are not careful- start at one end and work your way down. The memory sticks snap in place- not slide in place. If you download steam games you will have to switch out of Windows S. Very easy see pic of instructions. In the bottom left of your screen in the white “type here to search” box, type dxdiag and hit enter; this will show you your computer specs - memory, speed ...etc. I’ll probably get an external CD drive. Love it so far.

> 3 dayMy niece loves the laptop. The set up took place in no time. This was bought for online school. The only this is she had to disable the security feature to install zoom for school. The battery life is 3 to 4 hours between zoom and doing assignments. Shes very happy with her purchase.

> 3 dayMy laptop with randomly start typing 0000000 or +++++ or some other repeating key, when that key has never been touched. The touch pad switches between underreactive and overreactive, the cursor will start auto selecting everything and you cant get it to let go. Ive reached out to support on these issues before, and they told me to update drivers, I did, no improvement.
