Greater than one weekI use this computer monitor primarily to play World of Warcraft. I would not say Im a professional gamer, but if youre familiar with the game, Im a 2k pvper, do relatively high mythic+, and regularly get 90th percentile parses in heroic raids. I say this because I have noticed a difference in my gaming since getting the monitor. Im much more aware of my positioning in pvp because of the 144hz, same for mythic+. I tried the BenQZowie monitor without Gsync first, and it did not even compare to this Acer monitor. Im running a GTX1070 with Ryzen 2700x. The gysnc was completely necessary, and makes a huge difference. The smoothness and reaction time of my Razer chroma mouse was noticeably better upon first use. Just disable Vertical Sync in games and have GSync running. I did not have to do any color correction out of the box for this monitor. I was satisfied with it as is. I dont think this monitor is just good for the money. It is just a plain good monitor.

> 3 dayFor context, I now own two of these monitors, and these are my first. I bought the first one back in May 2019 for my PS4 and Switch (I game a lot), and the second in October after building a PC. I originally loved keeping the 1ms response time I was accustomed to on my TV for under $200 (at the time of writing it is $169.99), and was fine with the display and picture quality (though it took some time to get used to the smaller screen compared to my 60in TV). The monitor has settings to change colors and what not and also features a Game Mode that I suspect is the Acer EyeProtect’s Flicker-less, Blue Light Filter, ComfyView and Low-dimming technology mode. But the real change came in September when I built my first PC and connected it to this monitor. Playing with 144hz does make a real difference when playing, allowing you to see things come in focus much quicker than the 60hz I was used to, and the 1ms response time feels amazing for those accustomed to 3ms or more. It does get bright and may hurt when gaming for 8 hour prolonged sessions, but you can turn on Game Mode or dim the lights through settings. Plus, the fact that its adjustable is great, allowing it to adjust to a proper height or angle. My buddy, who still plays with a PS4, got one after I recommended it for his short desk setup, and adjusting it so it was facing him was a huge bonus for him. And for the price point its a welcome addition. Overall, solid monitor for under $200 and these have been great starter monitors for PC gaming for me.

06-06-2025I purchased this monitor in October 2017 and in 2 months, it will be 3 years old. All I can say is, wow. This bad boy still works as if I just got it yesterday. Response time, frame rate, picture quality, EVERYTHING is still spot on perfect like day one. I bought it to use with my XO X and it hasn’t let me down yet, I don’t expect it too tbh. Games like PUBG, CoD, BF, RB6, heck even NBA2k (as hard as that is for me to admit) and pretty much any game you can think of with more emphasis on fast gameplay and great graphics, runs smooth as butter. 100% worth every penny you’ll spend. I haven’t done much research on this now, but at the time I bought this, I was looking for a monitor that had the capability to swivel, tilt, and move up and down without spending a ridiculous amount of money. Not a single monitor I was considering buying had this. Look no further. This monitor is the all-in-one package you’d expect for the amount of money you’re hoping to spend to have everything you want. I am however planning to use this once I get a PC in the near future, but with the new XB series X coming out, that’s gonna be a tough one. I hope this review helps anyone who is looking at purchasing this beast! Enjoy!

Greater than one weekGot this monitor for the PS4 pro. I have always played on my tv, but I decided to get a pc and wanted to play my PS4 at my desk. It’s completely different playing on this monitor then my tv. The response time between the monitor and the PS4 controller is almost instant and it improves your playing so much vs playing on a tv! Although this monitor isn’t HDR compatible for the PS4 pro/ps5, the picture still looks crisp and clear! Nice and bright and has many settings to adjust it to your liking. The speakers are not great, but I would never use so it’s not an issue. 10/10 and would definitely recommend!!

> 3 dayMonitor has a good refresh rate but has issues with G-sync, specifically stuttering; hasnt had issue on other displays, unsure if its due to issues w/ drivers, settings on monitor/PC, etc. Color leaves a lot to be desired.

> 3 dayWe bought this monitor to complement the Acer XF243Y. We thought this cheaper model with the XFA variant was just an Amazon exclusive. Be warned--this is NOT the case. The XFA uses a much cheaper TN panel while the XF uses a VA panel. If you dont know what this means, look it up. Its important. You get what you pay for. There is no mention of this on the product page nor the manual.
