Pros: Fast/good refresh, nice build quality, decent price, ergonomics/stand are great for adjustability, comes w/DP cable. Cons: Poor picture quality!! There is no way to get the brightness/contrast right...you can have all the refresh you want, but if you cant see in the shadows and/or sun whats the point? The colors are trash (very washed out/inaccurate). Gamma is crap too. Viewing angles are poor, I know, I know its a TN panel...but this is bad I have this monitor parked right next to my 11yo Dell monitor (also a TN) & it looks so much worse. I was looking for an upgrade to the 11yo monitor I have...this is not it. Side notes: There are tons of ways to adjust the picture, Ive tried them all, it just doesnt have the capability. Also, it has a feature that displays current refresh rate in the upper right corner in big bold yellow letters, which you can turn off in the settings...but if you shut the monitor off (even sleep too) then turn back on the setting reverts every time, very annoying. ...Im going to try swapping the DP cable, currently using the one that came w/it. UPDATE: better cable did not work. Found out the picture issues are related to the refresh rate. I understand this is common in low end monitors If you tune the refresh rate back to 60hz the colors/gamma/contrast improve. Still not great, but better. I hope this helps someone. I researched the crap out of this monitor & no one mentioned this issue.

I absolutely love this monitor, sure it’s not the top of the line and only 1080p but gaming in 4K is expensive. Pros: - 1ms - 144hz - Price - Overall appearance - Sturdy stand - Easy adjustable screen Seriously I had semi low expectations when buying because it was cheaper than some but honestly it’s fantastic I love the stand it doesn’t move or rattle or anything it’s probably the best stand I’ve ever had for a monitor. It has small borders around the screen so it’s not massive and doesn’t take up a lot of space on your desk. Not sure why people say the colors looked washed or whatever to me they looked pretty good I took about 5 minutes messing with the setting and bumped it to 144hz cuz it’s in 60hz standard and it was 100 times better. Cons: - LED power light - Settings So when I first got it I couldn’t figure out what was bothering my eye thought maybe I needed to adjust to the 144hz. Figured out that when the screen is adjusted to the top of the stand the power light was like beaming me in the eye, super annoying. Easy fix cover it with a super small piece of duct tape so you can still see it but not right in the eye lol. The settings menu is a bit of a pain in the ass to manage around to changing stuff but honestly I set it once and never touch it again 9/10 so who cares. You have to go into the windows advanced settings to bump it to 144hz and you need a DP cable HDMI I believe can be set to 120hz. In conclusion guys honestly you won’t be dissappointed in this monitor I love it. Does everything I wanted in a monitor and I don’t get eye strain from long sessions of use which is awesome! Also the price makes it even more attractive. For people who gave it 1 star for a white screen, come on shit happens you got a bad unit, they replaced it under warranty, it happens. For real though if you’re like me who has to check 50 different same items trying to decide, just buy this one it’s great! EDIT: 3 years later and still going strong. Best 1080p monitor Ive ever bought. Not a single dead pixel, no flashing, still bright af, and its actually brighter than my Dell DG2716 and the white is more true lol.

This Monitor is fantastic. The only gripes that I have with it is when it comes out of the box and sound. When you turn it on for the first time the colors seem really washed out and you do have to play with the settings to fix it. That along with the speakers being on the weaker side, Though I didnt expect to live out of the monitors speakers, it was very underwhelming to hear sound come through the speaker. Other than those two, its a fantastic monitor.

I was reading a review and saw someone else experience the exact same issue I have. Sometimes the display will go blank and show nothing. This could happen for days and then eventually work fine again. If I looked at a second monitor when the issue occurred, I could see windows recognizing the device when its on and hiding the device when its off, so it seems like there is a signal being sent. The monitor was just not displaying it. The monitor is relatively cheap compare to other high refresh rate monitors(At the time I bought it in 2017). I had this issue occur to me multiple times and I even sent it to Acer twice to get repaired. Shipping I had to cover each time. Both times, the monitor got sent back to me saying they could not reproduce the issue and no repairs were done on it. I narrowed down the issue to the monitor. Some testing I did was use different GPUs, use a different display port and use a different cable. All the while I had a second monitor that did not have any issues at all. One solution was to use the HDMI port but that was only limited to 120Hz, not the 144Hz advertised and the reason why I chose this. I had some issues with FreeSync as well, causing the entire display(more like the backlight) to look like its flickering and it was very distracting. I wound up buying a new monitor and have not had any issues with that since. Since the warranty has expired, Im attempting to use the benefit on my Amazon Prime card of extending the warranty an extra year for certain products. I reached out to Acer to get a repair estimate, their standard fee for out of warranty repairs is $179. Youd be better off just buying the monitor again after factoring shipping.

Good price good monitor

For starters, the monitor itself along with the bezel is much thicker than I thought. The monitor has built in speakers but they are essentially useless as the quality is so poor and they give off an annoying hiss. Im not sure if its the monitors fault but I should note that the gsync seems incredibly inconsistent giving performance boosts in some games and performance hits in others. Lastly, my biggest issue was the half hour of tinkering I had to do with the display settings in order to make the display not look blurry, dried and gray. To the monitors credit once I got the colors and sharpness where I wanted them, gaming was actually very enjoyable and the bezel disappeared into the background better than I thought. The pivots and swivels are very smooth and satisfying to adjust and can help maintain proper posture for those who struggle with posture while sitting. There is also hardly any if any back pannel light bleed. Which was an issue on my previous viotek monitor, so this monitor definitely wont be emitting any seemingly unnecessary light bleed. Some settings that made the image and display quality improve: swapping out of the preset color temp immediately brings more color and less gray. Super sharpening severely decreases the blurriness and brings a much more crisp image. The user color profile is aslo very balanced and neutral. And lastly slightly decreasing the black levels make darks and blues much more crisp and natural, taking a lot of gray out.

The first couple of weeks for this monitor was 4 stars. Decent picture quality that required a lot of settings tweaking to get looking right, 144hz was great compared to my old 60hz monitors and a good range of motion. However after a couple of weeks, I started seeing issues. About 50% of the time that my computer and both monitors went to sleep, the monitors would not wake up with the computer. I would get a No Signal message when using the Display Port. The only fix was force restarting my machine. A fix for this was turning off the monitors and flipping the power switch on the back off, but if I ever forgot to do this it had a chance of not waking up from sleep. The G-Sync on the monitor caused flickering when using it in games. The only fix was turning it off completely. About a week later, one of the two monitors started flickering whenever I would move my mouse. I didnt notice it while gaming, but most other apps would be clearly flickering slightly. At that point I just decided the headache of trying to troubleshoot this wasnt worth it and I returned them and replaced them with two ASUS VG248QG 24 165hz monitors. The price is almost the same and Ive had 0 issues with them as opposed to these. I really wanted to like these, but once the issues started it wasnt worth fixing them

As another reviewer had mentioned, after about 7 to 8 months of use, now the monitor will occasionally just go black. You have to disconnect power, hit the power button to clear the memory, plug it back in and turn it back on. This works about 70% of the time. Other than that, the color accuracy is pretty poor. If youre playing games that have a lot of bright and dark scenes, youll either end up with washed out whites or lose all detail in blacks. This is especially present in games like Tarkov. If you buy this monitor I would suggest changing the gamma to 2.4 as it makes this monitor a little more usable. Overall, if youre playing games that have fairly consistent scene lighting like COD and youre wanting to try out 144hz for cheap, get this monitor. If you can afford something a little more expensive, I would avoid this TN panel and look at the newer 144hz 1ms IPS panels. P.S. The best thing about this monitor is the stand.

The high refresh rate is great but the picture quality is lacking.

I would not recommend this monitor unless you are pressed to buy it and wont have a 144hz monitor for any other price. So, I bought this 144hz monitor for my new computer that I built. This monitor has poor picture quality, bad colors, connection issues, and bad brightness. Its not good. However, it is 144hz. So thats nice. Another bad thing is that, in three months from purchase, it got a vertical red line down the screen. Vertical red lines are connection issues that are nearly impossible to cause on your own and impossible to fix without removing the panel. I did not hit the monitor or do any moving when it appeared. I simply was browsing the internet. They said this damage was under warranty. I sent the monitor in for the vertical red line and it was fixed within a week and a half. However, it cost me 23 dollars and my time! I also noted that the monitor had other issues (including connection issues), which they did not fix. The only thing that was fixed was the red vertical line. I want my 23 dollars back! Again, I would not recommend this monitor. It sucks and Acer kind of sucks. At least they paid for the shipping label!
