The Acer Nitro 5 has become the benchmark for budget gaming laptops. This is the second that Ive owned; the last one with AMD CPU and GPU was cascaded to my granddaughter after a happy year of gaming. So whats the latest unit like.

Received in the mail on Saturday. Hooked it to power and I had a computer. But trying to set it up was a pain. Microsoft account screen came up. Could not get around it. Called support and they would not tell me how to delete Microsoft registration requirements. Ask for supervisor and was told to call back 8-5 weekdays. After being on hold for 20 minutes it was easier to pack it up and return it. I do not know if it is a good computer or not but with the requirements and support, I do not want a Acer computer.

I wanted to find a gaming laptop that would allow me to play some games while traveling for work. The goal was to find something that wasnt crazy expensive, was portable, was comfortable to play on, and could handle some previous gen games (not looking for brand new AAA titles on ultra here).

I will say it could be because I use it for CPU intensive activities like music production and gaming but the battery life seems to be pretty short. Other than this I’m completely happy with this purchase.

So I had the older version of this laptop for years and did not have a SINGLE problem, sadly during transportation in my vehicle, the screen got hit and cracked, so I couldve replaced the screen, but figured I should upgrade to this one because the space on this is a bit bigger, and I think it was time. So I had high expectations for this one, and it definitely didnt meet them. I dont like that the backlight doesnt stay on anymore and you have to hit a random key for it to light up, and if you play in the dark, you dont know what youre hitting. No clue why Acer would do this and not add an option to keep it lit. The community even backlashed against it but they dont care I guess, anywho, when I try to type my pin to get in, it will say that my pin needs to be set up again, which it doesnt, and the way I have to fix it is by resetting my pin, or restarting my computer, both kind of annoying. It also keep freezing, its slow to change between tabs sometimes, and buffers ALOT. My old Nitro 5 never did that and was running like it was a top of the line PC. Kind of annoyed at it, the bluetooth is kinda iffy as well, I have bluetooth headphones and for some reason it auto connects to it when it feels like it, other times I have to manually connect them, it does this for all the pairs (3) Ive connected to it. I dont know, Ive never had headaches with the old model, but this one kinda bummed me out because I expected much more..

Lo mismo que los demás , apenas la saqué de la caja , conecte y no enciende , parece que o es un lote dañado o es una estafa , para devolver te cobran en mi caso $4000 pesos mexicanos por que por alguna razón Amazon no se hace responsable, es un robo no compren!!!

Works good bought this for my son but still lags on gaming but not just in online gaming but offline games too i realize lagging online is latency due to wifi signal & usage but thats not the case as i mentioned told my son to test but he never mentioned anything till now so Im having issues with expensive returns after return window closes & my trust with Amazon is decreasing my husband will have to contact support if anything is wrong cuz they have given me a headache recently.

Just make sure it is plugged in all the way. I added a 1 Tb HDD to the laptop without any problems, comes with the required data cable. I salvaged a 2.5 HDD from my old laptop. You can keep on the red keyboard lights using the nitro sense program. Boots in 11 seconds. The battery life could be better but it is a 17.3 screen and a gaming PC.
