Bought this strictly for gaming away from home. It does the job, although higher-end games cause it to get really hot... to the point I decided to get a voltage throttler and slow down the CPU to keep it cooler.

My family needed a multi-purpose laptop and Acers Nitro 5 fits the bill. Its design is sleek (although it is fairly big) and it looks really nice with the red backlit keyboard. Although, I find a backlit keyboard is an unnecessary battery drain. Its simple to toggle the keyboard light off and on. The screen resolution is great for our needs. Ive been doing telework since Covid-19 and I dont need tons of bells and whistles, just something reliable and safe. Norton Antivirus is included on the Nitro 5. It is easily upgradeable if you need more memory. Battery life is good (especially if you turn off the back light).

The laptop is great for gaming. The only issue I have is the battery life. Other than that it’s a great laptop!

I could go on forever about how awful this laptop is. But the bottom line is that IF YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO ACTUALLY PLAY GAMES YOU NEED STORAGE. THIS LAPTOP HAS NONE. NONE. And the reason I say none is because I seriously could only download 1 game. That’s it. That’s all. 1 game. Doesn’t run great, nothing special at all. If you’re going to blow this much money DO NOT WASTE IT ON THIS. You could buy a non gaming laptop for waaaay cheaper that would even run better than this and you could download most likely all the games you want with no issues.....please PLEASE take my advice and don’t buy this laptop ITS NOT WORTH IT!!
