> 3 dayLiterally just recieved the product from UPS. I go to do the whole setup process and hear a pop, then smoke starts coming out. Laptop already has something fried straight out the box.

Greater than one weekTake it from someone who had been lugging around an Acer Predator Helios 300 for the past couple years prior to picking this up: Youre gonna love the light, slim and sleek design of the Triton 500. Im in love with this machine, and if youre predisposed to liking/loving the Acers Predator line of products, you will love it too. If you inherently do not like them, I wont be able to say anything to change your mind, as they far from revolutionary--but priced to actually afford. Ive been using this Triton model for about two months and have been having some of the best gaming experiences of my life, which is not always easy when you have to be on the go as much as I am (traveling weekly for work). Buy with confidence; Acer has a winning gaming laptop on their hands here.

> 3 dayTl;dr Acer Predator Triton 500 (PT516-52S-73YD) has quality control issues. Heat dissipation from the GPU goes through the w,a,s,d keys on the keyboard making for VERY uncomfortable gaming unless you use an external keyboard. GPU started glitching after a week of use. Acer warranty support technicians couldn’t fix it after 3 attempts and 6 weeks of back-and-forth with their repair center. The technicians damaged the laptop during the repairs. Acer Corporate Support tried to replace it with an inferior machine (Acer Nitro 5 with lower specs), which I refused, and Acer has so far refused to issue a refund.

> 3 dayIf all you want is a well performing 2070 Super Laptop sure, the Triton 500 is very appealing on paper. Sub $1500 for these specs!?.. Heck yeah! And then you realize that you cannot judge a book by its cover.. Literally. This otherwise great gaming laptop is designed with the motherboard flipped toward the keyboard. Meaning, you cannot simply take the bottom cover off and upgrade your memory or add a second SSD. Upon opening, you will be greeted by the back side of the motherboard and no easy way to update your newly purchased $1500 gaming laptop that only comes with a 512gb SSD. 512gb is simply no enough HD space in 2021. You basically have to COMPLETELY disassemble the internals of this to simply add HD space or RAM. ACER.. What the F? Terrible design IMO. There are plenty of thin gaming laptops out there that are designed PROPERLY. Bottom line, shop around. Dont waste your hard earned money on such a throw away design. Reworked ACER this could be a crowning achievement. But in its current form its just not practical when there are so many other options out there that dont make such a massive compromise at these sacrifices. 3 Stars is being generous.

> 3 dayYeah, thats it. WOW! This is a great laptop/desktop replacement. I have used it with an attached monitor, and with its own native screen. That screen is bright and responsive and with the included high end CPU and GPU, games play great.

> 3 dayMy previously purchased gaming laptop was an Alienware 17R3, bought a few years back. Over the years, its progressively gotten slower, and has left me wondering if all of those disparaging comments about Alienware post-Dell-buyout werent true. This Acer system makes me belive those comments even more.

> 3 dayWe purchased this to run our software programs in our small trucking business. Probably a bit overkill for, but we wanted a cmptr that wouldnt be obsolete in a year and could run anything we throw at it!
