Amazon Basics Oscillating Dual Blade Standing Pedestal Fan with Remote - Quiet DC Motor, 16-Inch

> 3 dayI purchased this fan one week ago for $55. I came back today to purchase 2 more, and the price is $85 each. In a week the price rose by approximately 55%. The fan itself is a solid product. My 13 year old put it together in 5 minutes without looking at the instructions. Going to have to wait til Prime Day to see if the price comes back down, I guess. I’m not paying a 55% markup. Amazon, come on!

> 3 dayPositives: - Very quiet, almost 0 motor noises, full sound measurements below. - Remote uses normal AAA batteries and does not require a button cell. - Does not rattle or wobble while running. - Enough speeds to get the exact level of airflow you need and sound you are OK with. - Light weight to easily move around. - Option to control with remote or buttons on fan. Negatives: - All plastic construction makes the fan wobble a lot while being carried or moved, but it does not seem to cause problems nor move while running. - Connection between pole section and the motor unit is not very secure, can fall out while moving the fan of not held properly. - Remote occasionally loses signals so you have to press the button twice. Conclusion: Overall a great fan at a very reasonable price. The design is a little light weight and flimsy but it appears to use little power, create minimal noise other than that of the air itself and the construction causes no problems while it runs. Volume Data: I could not find a full set of volume readings for this fan at different speeds so am including it here, measures by by decibel meter held about 2 inches away from the motor body behind the blades. Note the fan has 12 speeds and 3 modes. Sleep mode automatically lowers the speed after a delay and nature mode randomly changes the speed over time, however the 12 speeds are the same between all modes so I only took measurements in normal / constant speed mode. - Room with fan off: 40dB - Speed 1: 42dB - Speed 2: 42dB - Speed 3: 43dB - Speed 4: 44dB - Speed 5: 47dB - Speed 6: 54dB (large speed jump here) - Speed 7: 54dB - Speed 8: 56dB - Speed 9: 58dB - Speed 10: 64dB - Speed 11: 68dB - Speed 12: 68dB

> 3 dayI feel like this one isnt as powerful as some of the others Ive had in the same size. Most of them have also been cheaper, but I guess Im paying for the remote and timer which is a feature I wanted on my next fan purchase. If youre looking for quiet this is your fan, just dont expect it to be super powerful if youre looking to compare it to a major box retailer store that carries these sorta fans if you catch my drift. I dont find the duel blades to be any more effective than a regular fan. If I went to purchase another fan, if this one dies Id like to back to a box store fan, just because of the amount of air they typically push out.

> 3 dayIts a nice fan, and like most fans, expects you to plug it into AC. But this one has a DC motor according to the box, which it does. So Ive bought it to run the fan on DC because thats what I want to do. Should you want to do the same, the fan runs on 24Vdc, no fancy wiring needed. Pop out the ac power supply and put in whatever you want, in my case, I embedded a laptop charger that accepts 10-16v and makes 20v. I lose some speed with 20v but you dont have to if you want to source a different power supply. Well that isnt exactly the solution, the oscillator motor is AC. You can probably make something work, but Ive just left mine without and thats okay.
