The best buy of my life

I was very skeptical about buying AMD. But after I saw the Linus tech tips made a video on the 2600 I figured the extra twenty bucks was worth the X. I was right. This processor is fast, easily overclockable, and his seriously gain my respect with its reliability. This would be a 5-star review but I did have one negative experience. When the cooler shipped it must have got knocked around in the warehouse or something because the plastic that covered my thermal paste was shattered and smeared as well as dried out my thermal paste. My PC would just come to a complete halt and shut itself off from overheating. I had to buy an all-in-one cooler (which is awesome btw) to maximize this chip to its full potential. I dont think the AMD wraith cooler suffices. This isnt my first build but it was very easy to install to the motherboard apart from those am4 clips. Absolutely recommend.

Very simple installation into motherboard. Stock cooler works well. After having completed my custom pc a few days ago, it has had no issues and seems to perform well.

super amazing value for a great CPU. $150 for a 3.6 GHz 6-core processor.

i have had no issues so far. great CPU. new MSI B450 Tomahawk recognized this chip without issue. also, even though i dint realize it at purchase, i got a free copy of the division 2! a game i was going to buy anyway.

Alot of work could be done with this

I bought this processor for my wife 2 weeks before the 3000 series Ryzen processors were released. I paid $180.

Managed to nab this for $125. The cool thing about the “X” version of this CPU is it auto-boosts itself to OC’d speeds. No manual overclocking is necessary, which makes paying a little more for this version of the 2600 worth it.

Amazing gaming performance, finally upgraded from my old 8350 and everything ran so much faster

when I opened the ryzen 5 2600x box the plastic on the bottom of the fan was shattered. Part of the plastic was stuck to the underside of the cooling fan. Some of the thermal paste was missing on the bottom of the fan. The outside of the box did not looked damaged at all, luckily I ordered thermal paste so I will clean it off and apply new paste. The physical parts inside the box did not look damaged so hopefully everything will work. will update. The only reason for 4 stars is the fact thatsome thermal paste was missing and shattered plastic stuck to the thermal paste.
