APC Surge Protector, White Power Strip PH8W, 2160 Joules, Flat Plug, 8 Outlet Power Strip

I like that it is nice looking, works as it is supposed to, and has enough outlets for me to plug in appliances without having to unplug others.

Fortunately I pugged a lamp into the outlet strip, because after 14 months the bulb started flickering, changed bulb, and bulb still flickered, I listened closely to the outlet strip and heard it making a slight crackling sound and it also had a faint electric odor. The bulb informed me the unit was delivering bad electric to my sensitive equipment. Now I am worried about the other 3 I bought, keep or trash them too?

I have always used APC power strips they offer great protection for electrical equiptment. You cannot go wrong.

I got this mainly because it was one of the thinner units that had 8 plugs. For me this was important because I wanted it fit in the cable organizing tray on a sit-stand desk. It does so wonderfully and I havent had any issues in the short time Ive used it. Its currently powering a PC, monitor, bookshelf speakers, desk lamp, and a few usb chargers.

The differently oriented sockets make the power strip really useful for things with the 90 degree angled plugs.

Ive always bought surge suppressors and the like from APC. Theyre very reliable and well-made. The equipment protection guarantees are great, too. This strip is not as sturdy as some other APC strips, but it is also less expensive. Perfect for basic home use (a TV, Xbox, etc). Id get a higher up APC model if youre protecting a workstation computer or high end audio gear. But for basic stuff, this strip is a good value. Id trust this far more than a lesser known brand.

I bought this to replace an old 6-outlet surge protector and am very happy with the purchase.

So I live by this company and high recommend it for two reasons. 1. It works. Ive had one that was destroyed during a thunderstorm but like the company claims, it will protect your electronics, and boy did it do so. While the unit was trashed after the storm, all my gear was 100% and protected. After that I was sold and all of the electronics in our house are hooked up to this company. But more importantly, 2. The companys guarantee. If any of your devices or electronics are damaged while using this product, they will cover you for the damage. Cant beat that.

I bought two of these (PH8). They protected all my equipment through a blown transformer recently. Others in my neighborhood have damaged equipment and are trying to sue the power company now. Meanwhile, my stuff is fine and after 5 minutes of APC chat support, they are shipping me a replacement for one of them that wouldn’t turn on after the incident. I enthusiastically give it 5 stars for working like they should, and would give 5 more for backing the lifetime warranty.

Everything checks out, but I feel like had the switch were moved to the side, you’d have more room for another socket. Or, have room for those bigger power plug.
