> 24 hourI am a black American male with typical black male facial skin. I have been shaving for over twenty years and have used many different types of shaving devices. I have been using double edge razor blades for only two months but the effect and results these razor blades have had on my facial skin is simply Awesome. My facial skin used to brake out with typical razor bumps from shaving and ingrown hairs but since I ve started using these razors my skin has totally cleared up. Before I was shaving with the very expensive Mark 3 and 4 razors but these razor blades are awesome and cheaper in the long run.. Great product I would highly recommend this product.

> 24 hourI had been using a well-respected Japanese brand of razors to shave my neck with for a few years, which work great, but were quick to cut me with even the slightest mishap. I was told that Astra was another great option that wasnt as sharp, and they fit the bill -- no more cutting my sensitive skin, but an extra pass became necessary to get a comparably close shave to the aforementioned Japanese brand. These also cost about half as much, so Im satisfied with my purchase. I only docked a star because these blades dont seem to last as long as the other brand. I would get at least 3 or 4 great shaves per blade out of the other brand, but only 2 out of the Astra blades. After that, the blade is noticeably dulled, and starts tugging at hair. Still, this is only a very slight complaint, since Im getting around a years worth of cut-free shaves for the cost of a burrito bowl.

> 24 hourJust started DE shaving again after a nearly 30 year hiatus. I wanted to beat the excessive cost of those $3 to $4 5-blade plastic gizmos that they advertise heavily. Thes blades cost me about $0.20 each. With a decent DE shaver you can easily get 4 to 7 shaves out of each blade. And, you can get as good a shave, if not a better shave, as well. Being back new in the DE shave game, I have not tried that many blades. My new DE shaver came with a Merkur blade. I tried it and did not like it. I bought a small pack of Wilkinson blades at the drug store. Those blades gave me an acceptable shave...much better than my Merkur blade. But these Astra blades are by far better than either of the other two I have tried thus far. I plan to try some other blades (Feather, Derby, Persona, etc.) but I can see that these Astras are definitely keeper blades. The vendor provided prompt service and I would definitely buy products from this vendor again.

> 24 hourThese razor blades are a GREAT price, thats why I purchased them, You wont get any argument from me there, and they also had great shipping. They totally arrived fast. The problem I had with them is that the blades are so thin they would not fit in my razor. So, if you think that might be an issue, then be aware. Also, I was going to use some to scrape some old stickers off my car... these are too thin for that, they bend all over, like paper.

> 24 hourI would say they are slightly less sharp than a Dorco ST301, but slightly more smooth. Overall a very mix of attributes that makes it a very versatile blade. Just sharp enough to cut though a dense beard and smooth enough to keep your face feeling great. Add in that these are very inexpensive blades and you have a real winner here. Would highly recommend these blades because I think they would cover like 99% of shavers needs.

> 24 hourUpdate: 12/24/2022 Downgraded again after 2 more years of use. This update is to inform potential buyers that youll get about half unusable blades. To me that is no bargain at all. I got better shaves from the disposable razors that lasted two weeks or longer than what I get most days with a brand new blade right out of the box with this brand. But the real problem is the crap-shoot method of getting a good blade. You never know if it will be a good blade or not until its too late. Honestly, even trying to use them means ripping your face up like you tried to shave using your neighbors Rottweiller guard dogs teeth while theyre still attached to his mouth. I just hate having my face all lathered up and my hands wet and then find out that the blade I JUST put in is dull and needs to be relplaced. Its a frustrating time killer but thats a better trade off with the Face-Killer. Downgraded my 5 star rating to only 2 due to the lack of quality control from the factory.

> 24 hourI used to used the cartridge type double or triple blade disposables. I got fed up with the outrageous cost of the disposables. I switched to these safety razor blades and I am extremely satisfied. They provide a better shave, closer shave than the disposables, and surprisingly they last longer than the disposables.

> 24 hourGood shaves. Sometimes better than others. I don’t know if that’s just because of my face or my technique but sometimes the razors last a while and sometimes they don’t. Sometimes I get a terrific shave and sometimes it’s not as good.

> 24 hourAfter buying a variety pack with 8+ different brand types, Astra was the one that didnt irritate my super sensitive skin while barely nicking me. Even after trying other blades after using Astra, I came back to these guys. They are very sharp and give a smooth shave on my face. Yet, my neck and face are no longer left feeling on fire or irritated/embarassingly bright red for 2-3 days afterward like when I used to shave with the disposable Gilettes. Oh, what relief! Besides this benefit, the next best thing with this pack is the cost. For $9 you get 100 blades. Generally, I change my blades once a week, meaning one blade per week equals out to 100 weeks -- thats two years worth of blades for $9!! If youre shaving with over-priced, crappy-quality disposables youll win the lottery before you find a deal like that. On another note, some of the concerns of other reviewers I can empathize with. I really only get 2-3 shaves before I need to change the blade, which does seem a bit underwhelming. However, with the price, quantity, and quality for these blades that obviously does not deter the 5-star review from me. Interestingly, and on a completely random tangent, I read somewhere that the numbers on each sides of the blades mean nothing at all of significance. The interesting part is that I sometimes get a noticeably better shave when I use the 3-4 side of the blade facing up versus the 1-2 side facing up. Anyway... Last thing, brothers: one of the best decisions I have ever made was switching to shaving with DE safety razors. From there, one of the most important decisions a man will make after doing the same will be choosing which blades to shave with. As other reviewers here have pointed out, Astra may do wonders for your face as with mine. On the other hand, Astra blades may wreck your face while Derby will do just the trick. Before buying this, make sure youve been able to try out different blades in a variety pack. However, if youve found Astra to be your skins pal, make both your face and wallet happy and buy this pack.
