I have very sensitive skin and went to a double edge razor a few years ago because it just makes so much more sense financially vs. cartridge razors which is legalized theft in my opinion. Ive always done the following when shaving: shave in a hot shower, scrub my face with St Ives apricot scrub (like sand), soak face in hot water, put a few drops of oil on face and blades, apply shaving soap, wait about 3-5 minutes in shower and then shave and then alum block and finally, a moisturing post-shave cream. When I started out, I was using a Merkur 34c and I tried every soap from Proraso sensitive, TOB, AOS sensitive, Arko, Castle Forbes, George coconut oil etc and tried oils along with different blades like Derby, Feathers, Merkur, KAI, Bic, and more. But, I was tired of looking like Freddy Krueger every time I shaved which is only 2-3x week. My neck was always red and cut up and my face was just as bad no matter how carefully and slow I shaved. Alum blocks were my painful friend back then. So, I went back to cartridges for a while and settled with Schick which I liked. Recently, I went all in again with a Futur handle, Gentlemans Refinery pre-shave oil, and started with Truitt and Hill 1805 (nice soap) with Feathers. Bad mistake. The feathers tore my face up. Then, I tried Derbys and the result was pretty much the same. Then, I tried another soap, Razorock Mudder Focker (also good stuff) but again with the same result. About to give up again on DE shaving, I searched for best DE razors for sensitive skin (should have done this a long time ago) and Astra popped up so I figured ~$10 for 100 blades is OK and if they dont work, Ill give them away. Im excited to say that I just finished shaving and I had only one very small nick! My neck wasnt red at all and there was very little, almost no pain from the alum block. I couldnt believe it. I was able to get a very close shave with no irritation at all. Im a believer and will use these Astras from here on out. I just cant believe I wasted all that time and money when the answer is right here. One last thing, these razors will allow you to get a little aggressive with shaving but not like cartridges. These will still cut you up and Im sure I got that one nick from being a little too confident.

These are among the best razors Ive used. Ive tried Merkur, Shark, and other brands, and I find myself reaching for these every time I want a good shave. The individual packs inside the box are cardboard, and each blade is wrapped in a waxy paper. It should seal the moisture out well enough, but it may be a concern to some buyers. The blades themselves are fantastic, and very sharp. Ive used them for 2-3 shaves before. If youre not sure which blades to get (there are so many brands out there), I would recommend going with Astra. I will be buying this brand again as my #1 choice in the future.

I am a black American male with typical black male facial skin. I have been shaving for over twenty years and have used many different types of shaving devices. I have been using double edge razor blades for only two months but the effect and results these razor blades have had on my facial skin is simply Awesome. My facial skin used to brake out with typical razor bumps from shaving and ingrown hairs but since I ve started using these razors my skin has totally cleared up. Before I was shaving with the very expensive Mark 3 and 4 razors but these razor blades are awesome and cheaper in the long run.. Great product I would highly recommend this product.

I ordered these blades because the picture shows them wrapped in printed paper rather than plain waxed paper. When they came they were in plain waxed paper. I am disappointed because I have heard that the blades in plain paper are not the original blades and not the same quality as those in printed paper. I have some already in plain paper and they work well but I wanted to make a comparison of the two and see for myself if there was a difference. I wish the blades would have been as shown in the picture. Because of that I am giving 3 stars. After this review was posted I was contacted via email by the vendor who stated that the manufacturer started packing the blades in plain paper around 4 months ago and that the blades are the same as those in printed paper. I hope so. Update: Although I have not been able to compare the so called original Astra blades with these I am inclined to accept the fact that only the wrapper has changed and that the blade has not. I must say that these blades give me a very good shave and are a very good deal at this price. I have tried many brands of blades and I think this blade is the best bang for your buck. I am revising my review from 3 stars to 5 stars.

Great deal on razors. I have a really thick beard and my hairs are very thick as well. I get two shaves from each blade which comes out to about a nickle a shave. I dont get much razor burn and my face is left silky smooth afterward. Dont waste your money buying those expensive razors in the stores or that store in the mall, get your razors here. So worth it!!!

My favorite blades. Sharp but smooth offering a balance that doesnt nick every bump in my skin. They last me about 5 shaves (face and head) each. Take time to learn the DE techniques and it becomes easier and more comfortable than expensive multiblade razors.

I bought this 100 pack after having tried Astra Superior Platinum in a blade sampler pack. The blades are sharp enough to take care of my stubble. Theyre smooth enough to keep my face from getting irritated. Theyre forgiving enough that I dont nick myself with them. Judging by performance alone, theyd be one of my favorite blades. Add in the low price, and theyre definitely a winner!

I used to love these blades. I learned to shave with a DE safety razor with them. Used a few hundred of these blades over the years. I didnt believe all the recent reviews - I thought there was some bias and all the manufacturer changed was the labeling (engraving and removed the numbers). WRONG. Just taking them out of the package, they feel so much more flimsy and the blade edge looks poor. Theres an obvious difference to me in the type of blade, beyond the markings. Ill admit - I havent shaved with the new ones yet. The obvious changes in the sharpness and material, combined with these reviews - make it tough for me to justify ripping my face up for a test shave. Ive yet to have a day where I can afford to have a bloody mess in the morning before work. But one things is clear - the product changed more than just the markings on it. Ive since explored blades similar to the old Astra SP, and for those looking for alternatives - Gillette Silver Blue seems pretty similar (maybe a bit more forgiving). What a shame though - I wonder if this was an accidental or intentional nerf. These blades always seemed to be too good for the price - I wonder if Gillette (Astra owners) realized that and adjusted the quality accordingly.

Other razors are not sharp enough to get through my stubble. The platinum coating on these makes them sharper and more comfortable. Also, the value for money is great. Featherlight is the sharpest, but those are unreasonably expensive.

I used to buy these type blades at the dollar store because i didnt know they were available anywhere else cheaper. After constant knicking even with fresh blades, I decided to see if there were other options. SO GLAD I DID! Dont remember where I found this brand blade recommended, but Im definitely their customer from now on. Extremely smooth shave, and the only knicks happen when i get careless. And i thought I was getting good deal from the dollar store at a buck for 5 blades -- now Im getting 100 for 7 bucks and couldnt be more satisfied.

ASTRA stainless double edge blades fit all double edge razors. ASTRA blades are made from the highest quality steel. Each ASTRA blade provides unsurpassed quality, smoothness and durability for a long lasting, smooth shave.
