> 24 hourIve bought a lot of Asus peripherals over the years, and this one lives up my high standards for their devices. It has yet to fail on either reading or writing DVDs, and the direct SATA interface is a helluva lot faster than the USB2 external drive Id been using before. Having one less external box, cable, and DC power supply to muck with is a win. These will likely make it a money saver well into the future, as I dont have to depend on cables, plugs, and DC PSUs - just the unit itself. Recommended. (Thickness? They want it rated on thickness? OK . . . it filled the 5.25 bay correctly, no gaps or overly tight fits.)

> 24 hourBought this to replace the 10 yr old DVD burner in my desktop. I was surprised that this drive completes its task much faster than the old original drive, even using the same software and same blank discs.

> 24 hourNice drive for the money. Does all that it says it will do. This is my first purchase of an ASUS product and I have to say it has more than met my needs. I was a little disappointed that it took a day longer to receive the drive. Usually with Amazon Prime things get delivered on time, but not this time. Anyway the DVD burner is quick and writes everything I have thrown at it. If you are looking for an good drive this is it.

> 24 hourCheap. Actually about $2 more than at the local Microcenter store, but since thats nearly an hour away, I would have spent more on gasoline going to get it. So, its a time saver too! As far as reading/writing, who knows? I have read several cds, and they all worked. I may never have occasion to write to a disk again. Who would have thought 8 years ago that the 100 pack of blank dvds would be a lifetime supply? I dont expect any troubles.
