> 3 daySo the laptop is good for what I need. Perfect really. Unfortunately, about a week ago a strange line of gray smudge appeared on my screen. It wasnt wide at all and stretched about a 4th of the screen with a dot at the end separated randomly. You can only really see it on darker colors, otherwise not at all. Though, if the screen is black (like its on but black), you can see a faint, large spread smudge of red pixels across a decent part of the screen. I have not dropped it or damaged it, and its pretty much just been closed in my backpack and opened at work. Whats up with this? I thought it would go away, but it has not unfortunately. Its still works fine though disregarding that.

> 3 dayI have been using this laptop daily for both work and streaming media for about a year. I bought it because the specs were pretty good and it was what I needed. If you are looking for a gaming computer for games like rocket league or a battle royale, this is not the computer for you. My 2 biggest gripes are the display and the sound. The display has a very dim backlight. It doesnt matter how good a picture is if it isnt well lit. It is annoyingly noticeable every time I use this computer. The sound is also very unimpressive. Its not very loud, and I am keeping in mind it is a laptop. It sounds very tinny at times.

> 3 dayThis has been a really great laptop, The print reader identifies about 50% of the time, which can be annoying. My major complaint is about the speakers. They lasted less than three months before cutting in and out and finally ceasing to function. I tried reaching out to the seller, but never received a response. The speakers on my old Dell laptop lasted a couple of years before failing. I would have expected more than 3 months from Asus. This is the second Asus laptop I have owned. My old one worked well until the hinges failed. Asus came well recommended, however now I would not recommend this brand to any one.

> 3 dayOverall I think it is a good laptop. The fan is a bit noisy but other than that a perfectly good laptop. However, mine had intermittent errors, similar to the ones I read in these reviews: the computer would BSOD with a hard drive read error occasionally when I turned on the computer. Other times it would crash with a memory management error. I think these errors occurred maybe 4 to 5 times since I bought the laptop.

Greater than one weekPurchased when tablet started freaking out. Thought about upgrading (building) desktop with new MOBO etc. Compared pricing and decided better off just getting a laptop. After shopping all the brands and comparing configs I landed on this ASUS Vivobook. It covers all my needs and then some. At a much better price. After adding 16GB RAM (20GB total) and 1TB internal HDD (made easy by ASUS and an add-on drive tray kit), I have the laptop I would want if I could build one myself. And still less expensive than other brands with similar configs. The FHD display and 4K HDMI connection give me display options. Looks great when connected to 65 4K TV. Keeping cool is no problem with its venting. Although a little distracting when fans ramp up. The MyASUS app is great for fine tuning operation, connection and sharing (files, video and camera) with mobile devices, and battery life beyond what Windows can configure.
