Audio-Technica VM540ML/H Turntable Headshell/Cartridge Combo Kit Red

Bought this as an upgrade from the decent Ortofon 2M Red that came with my Technics SL1500c turntable. The 2M sounded great on many albums, but often suffered from inner groove distortion, which I assumed was caused by bad pressings. This VM540ML eliminated the problem. Tested this on the same brand new record (Portishead - Dummy 180g repress) and there is absolutely no sibilance on the last track of each side. With the 2M there is major sibilance on the S sounds. Sounds amazing. Less bright and harsh than my 2M red. Highly recommend this if sibilance is your enemy.

Some hidden frequencies can be accessed by this stylus and brings out the best and most accurate reproduction of sound.

１０数年交換していなかったので、思い切ってオーディオテクニカ製の物に交換して見ました。前には若干雑音があったのですが、交換してから全然すのような事がなくてとても気に入っています。

Crisp and clean sound. CD quality sound, with the exception of a few pops and cracks caused by dust.

The first one I received had serious issues with the right channel and no adjustments I could make would fix it. I set up a return, and got a replacement. Im not a full on audiophile, but I enjoy listening to records and I look for the less expensive ways to improve playback quality. This one is a dream! Its tracking well on records that my original stylus had trouble with. The sound is clear and full. I havent been able to notice any inner groove distortion. This was a really good upgrade to my system and Im very happy I bought it. Some people claim it needs a break-in period before you get the best sound quality, but its already amazing out of the box.

Going from the AT-LP120XUSB’s stock head cartridge to the VM540ML/H makes a HUGE difference. It’s a simple plug and play (after setting the tracking force to 2 gms +-.2) the volume jumped up from a default setting I bet 25% at least. Blew me away. The dynamic sound range is very noticeable and so much better. It just opens up. You will hear. Immediately. This is worth every dollar and a must have simple upgrade. You won’t be disappointed.

You heard it right: this thang IS juicy. So much detail. First micro linear cartridge so that could be part of the shock, but it is definitely an improvement over the AT95 shiabata cart I was using before. GET IT!

My new Audio Technica AT-LP120XUSB turntable came with the stock AT-VMN95E elliptical stylus. Sounded great but I knew there was a better sound if I researched it. So after some research on the AT website, I realized for my listening profile, the micro linear stylus was the way to go versus the elliptical. The micro-linear provides much more surface contact with the record grooves. Once I swapped cartridges (the AT VM540ML cartridge & headshell came perfectly aligned... I checked it with a protractor), I was blown aways with the crystal clarity of the vocals and the separation of the instruments. The bass is pronounced and huge. The cartridge reproduces the sound that the producers wanted you to hear.

A la recherche du meilleur son pour un prix accessible. Cette cellule me paraissait un bon compromis et je ne suis pas déçu. Excellent son.

TEAC TN-350にこのカートリッジをつけてみて、あまりの音の良さにビックリしました。 オーディオは９割がスピーカーで１割がカートリッジと言いますが、まさにそのことを教えてくれる逸品です。 オーディオショップでは高いターンテーブルを売るために、高額品をべた褒めしてますが、そのようなものに騙されないようにしたいものです。安いターンテーブルでも、良いカートリッジを装着するほうが断然お得で良い音を獲得できます。
