> 3 dayThis was the FIRST time that I had ever used this specific 100% cotton thread on my embroidery machine. I LOVED it. Since it is 100% cotton, I can use it to embroidery designs on hot pads, micro-wave potato pouch, and etc... What I also loved was that the label at the bottom of the spool has a circular perforated area where the spool can sit on the thread holder. I have found having to pierce a hole or cut a hole at the bottom of other brands, a sticky pain, because pieces of paper can stick to my scissors, or whatever metal I decided to use. Not with this specific spool, the perforated label made it so easy, you just push the center paper in with your finger and the spool is ready to sit on the spool holder. Another plus is how easy it is to start the initial unwinding of the thread once the clear wrapper is removed. See attached pics of spool bottom, before I pushed the center in with my finger!

> 3 dayLove how thin, strong, and lengthy this cotton thread is. The thinness doesn’t overwhelm visually in appliqué, and the strength cannot be beat. I love that I don’t have to change the thread much when I am sewing quilts, clothing, etc. Wish I had known about 50 wt. sooner. Very pleased.

> 3 dayIve been using Aurifil almost exclusively for both piecing and machine quilting for years. When piecing, the thread is fine enough to almost melt into the seam, but strong enough to withstand a lot of use and washing. Likewise, it doesnt call a lot of attention to itself when you machine quilt, letting the relief of the quilting be the star (if you *do* want much more visible quilting stitches, Aurifil is also available in heavier weights). The thread moves through the machine easily, leaving behind little to no lint. Its worth the price. The spools hold 14 football fields worth of thread - it takes a LOT of sewing to use one down to the spool.
