> 3 dayFirst time buyer of this thread. So far, I have used it for piecing, and all my vintage sewing machines love this thread. A friend of mine brought some over a while back and we tried it on the long arm and it works beautifully there too. I have loved to sew all my life and the thread of choice was Coats and Clarks. Love their poly wrapped cotton thread. Then all at once all you could find was 100% polyester thread in the local stores. OK, so learned to like it too. I could buy 500 yd spools for around $1.50 to 1.75. Then C&C went up a lot in price, ($3.50 per spool ) and reduced the number of yards on the spool to such a small amount, (i could only wind 3.5 bobbins and the spool was empty) that I started looking elsewhere for a good reasonable priced thread with enough on the spool to last through the piecing of at least on quilt. And the C&C thread was really linty, always had been, but it was all I knew. Aurifil is still a bit more twisty as it comes off the spool, and I can live with that. It doesnt break, gives a good strong seam, and it is thinner that the C&C thread that I was used to sewing with. The price per yard is very good too. 8-18-2016 Revision to my review: Halfway through the spool, the thread became very weak, unable to use the rest of thread on the spool.

> 3 dayGreat value. A spool lasts a l-o-n-g time. I use the machine mostly for piecing quilts and the thread color doesnt need to match. I bought white, tan. and black and havent needed anything else yet.

Greater than one weekThis thread is driving me bonkers. It keeps breaking and knotting as I quilt. It’s almost as if passing through the fabric is fraying and weakening it, no matter how short of pieces I use or how gently I thread the stitches. I got a different color (gray) at the same time and haven’t had near the problems with it as the white. I’m wasting a lot of time and thread having to stop and retread the needle, tie knots, and overstich.

Greater than one weekI really wanted this thread for a long, long time. Everyone likes it and i eaited for a special occasion to buy it. The thread is wonderful, and if it had been the first thread Id ever used, Id prob love it as much as everyone else. However, Im just not crazy about it. It has a shine that I dont care for, and is really thin. Those are good things for most people, but I had been using Gutermann 100% cotton before and that is where I judged it from. The Auriful worked beautifully, came quickly and was wrapped in plastic when delivered. I would recommend it to anyone. But, Ill stick with Gutermann.
