12-04-2025I like this chainbreaker. Tough and really reliable. Comes with a extra needle. I dislike that when I opened the package the item was super greasy. Overall 5 stars.

Greater than one weekGreat product, actually was sold a small aggravating one from local motorcycle shop for $10 more than this one. Returned it and waited on this one to ship to me, glad I did, so much easier and includes replacement tips.

10-04-2025In Q &A section, someone asked if it would work on 530, 525, 520 chains and seller replied it would. I decided to call bluff and purchase it. Technically, it does but requires some grinding. It Will Not Work On Factory Pressed Rivets on 530, 525, and 520 Chain Without Grinding/Shaving Rivet A Bit First. It could work on the non-factory DYI rivets with the dimple on it without grinding. Chain I used it on was a 525. The Push Pin in device flattened (not harden steel) and felt like tool would break. Wished Id took a pic of it before tossing and installing the spare. Overall, its a solid design but intended for bicycle type chains or smaller.

> 3 dayOnly allows griping the chain from inside of links, rather than outside, which means user can only push pin out on side of chain at a time rather than pushing pin all the way out of the chain in one operation.

> 3 dayI needed this for an FTC robotics project which has #25 chain. We had this included aluminum thing that hardly worked. So I bought this. It looks a lot like the USA made breaker from McMaster which cost 4 times the price. It looks and feels solid and comes in a box which implies precision engineering, but its not precision engineered at all. The cam holes are very sloppy so that the gripper teeth neither center the chain nor after 2 or 3 uses are even able to hold on to it tight enough while pushing the pin down. So the pin neither stays center and Im not entirely sure that this would fit in the #25 chain anyhow -- the teeth are just too large. It did break the chain multiple times, to the point that they werent remotely usable afterwards. Im now taking a recommendation from my robotics forum and bought a DarkSoul chainbreaker.

> 3 dayIt DOES WORK though! Its more bicycle chains cause the pin on the breaker will probably go through that hole or larger! Just doesnt fit smaller chains like pocket bikes! If you have a pocket bike you can use it, just go half way on the pin youre popping out, or itll bend your link but like I said, this is pretty much for bicycle chains or larger! Works great though!
