21-11-2024This was so easy to use! Just like a vacuum cleaner, lightweight and does a great job at cleaning the carpet. I have tan carpet, recently purchased my home and was full of twins. The stains came right off. AMAZING!!

> 3 dayThe best thing about this cleaner was how simple it was, in design and usage. This sucked up so much more dog hair that I wasnt even aware of it being there. The roller brushes were amazing and did a fantastic job, also. It might be a good idea to use this as the vacuum cleaner and then as a stain/dirt cleaner. It is so simple to snap together and use that a child could do it! Just remember this is not a vacuum cleaner when the carpet is wet and you have to run it very slowly across the wet carpet, because it puts a lot of water on the carpet and it spreads pretty fast, so it might take two or three slow drags across to get most of that water up. I wish everything was manufactured as well and simple as this item. Its not really necessary to have all of those bells and whistles on products to get the job done right and they got this one RIGHT!!! Mike in SWFL

> 3 dayI use this on a couple 9x12 synthetic rugs and smaller rugs. And it is good for that. If you plan on using this on a large fully carpeted area, think again. You need to be looking at something in the price range of $500. Having said that, after using this, I realized that carpets/rugs are just large dust rags that do nothing but absorb dust...no matter how much you vacuum. The dark colored water that results from cleaning the carpet is really just super dusty water. I have no carpeting in my house. Its all hard laminate flooring with large rugs that we replace every 2-4 years (if I can get one year for every $100 I spend on the rug, Ive won). And I run a robot vacuum every other day on a schedule. This setup is so much better than carpeting and this machine taught me this. There is no reason in the world you want to keep carpeting or rugs more than 4 years, tops. After that, just get rid of it. Its entirely too dusty and dirty. And, obviously, changing carpeting every 4 years seems like it would be too costly/hassle-some. But running a robot vacuum on a hard floor, plus a swiffer wetjet mopping, is so much cleaner than any carpet. This machine taught me that carpets are just...naaaasty. I use this machine once a month on my large rugs and it keep the rugs nice and fresh. If you dont know when the last time your rug was cleaned, I strongly recommend you do a first cleaning with nothing but plain water. Also, use the hottest water youre allowed to..which is 140F water. Then go back and redo it with the cleaning solution. You might even consider doing plain water twice and then using the cleaning solution for a third run. If you clean the rug monthly, there is no need to do a double or triple wash each time. But any longer than monthly, and you need to a double wash each time. I promise. Having used this several times for a few months, Ive learned rugs (and carpet) take on dust like I did not know before getting this. And yes I do vacuum with an upright and a robot vacuum regularly. The biggest problem with this unit is that the clean- and dirty-water reservoirs are super small. You end up filling/emptying very often which makes the process take a lot longer. The counterargument is that this allows the clean water to stay hot. I leave a pot of water on the stove, which I refill when I refill the clean water reservoir. I mix the clean stove water with hot tap water to a temp of 140F. I use a cooking thermometer to check the temp. Then I pour into the reservoir and then add cleaning solution. The hot water honestly does make a big difference. I also run a dehumidifier and ceiling fan (on high) in the room with the rug when Im done. Also, you have to clean the machine itself after every use. Big hassle, but you have to do it. Since I have to take apart to clean it, I store the machine in the box it came in. You could leave it assembled in a closet. But since its easy to take apart and put back together, I just put it back in its box. I also like the Bissell brand of cleaning solutions that Ive used. Have a nice not-overpowering smell and they do leave behind a little protective coating.

> 3 dayI havent used many carpet cleaners, but I cant imagine theres very many that are as convenient and effective as this one. I bought it to clean area rugs and upholstery. Ive only used it once, but it did an excellent job. It made quick work of a couple of very dirty area rugs. And the upholstery attachment worked perfectly to clean a fabric couch and a couple of chairs. It was easy to set up, fill, use, and clean afterwards. I really like this unit, and I highly recommend it.

> 3 dayI have been using Stanley Steamer to clean my bedroom carpets for 3 years. There was a one time dog urine in my master bedroom. The odor never came out. The price if Stanley Steamer just went up so i decided to purchase my own carpet cleaner. Im so glad i did not only did it leave my carpet looking like new but also removed the odor!!! I used the enzyme solution that came with the cleaner. I cleaned the entire bedroom and did not fill the dirty water tank. For my size rooms , 3 carpeted bedrooms, this is an awesome product! This is my second bissell product and bar none these are the best products i have owned. Customer Service is also outstanding when i had a question about my vacuum cleaner.

> 3 dayThis is a very easy-to-use carpet shampoo machine nicely sized for home use, although I wouldnt recommend it for a very large house with acres of carpet. It is NOT a vacuum, as such -- you want to always vac the carpets thoroughly before using this machine, because its not designed to pick up heavy sand, bits of paper or thread, or small objects like dropped paper clips. It does, however, do an admirable job on ground-in dirt and stains. I do wish the two containers -- the top for cleaning mix, the bottom for waste water and dirt -- were larger. As it is, if youre being careful and doing overlapping strips, you dont get a very large area finished before its time to dump the waste and fill up with more clean water. I suspect, however, that this complaint is probably true for virtually ALL home-sized cleaning machines. Thats why if I were doing a whole house or large empty apartment, Id probably go rent a larger machine. But for small jobs (spills, soiled entryways and hallways, etc.) this machine totally fills the bill. The unit seems to be very nicely and thoughtfully designed generally, and well assembled. It was packed very well. But do resign yourself to popping another $20 to $30 for a large container of Bissell Cleaning Concentrate (for upright machines) as the tiny starter bottle goes quickly.

18-11-2024This is about the easiest rug shampoo cleaner I have ever had. Congratulations Bissell for making it so easy to clean. It is amazing how it cleans the rug. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a very good rug shampooer.

> 3 dayFirstly, for context I just got this carpet cleaner today and used it for ~3 hours. If I have any issues with it in the future I’ll update. Right now, I’m super happy! I was in the market for a carpet cleaner to clean our nasty rental carpets and to have on hand for pet messes. I poured over the reviews for all the sub-$130 machines on Amazon and this one seemed to have the most positive ones. The machine is very easy to put together and use. You snap the handle together, snap in the dirty water tank, fill and snap in the clean water tank, and you’re ready to start cleaning. If you’re looking for something to clean smaller areas, like rugs or pet accidents, this machine is ideal. I have a small-ish apartment and using it over my whole living room was time consuming and took a LOT of water changes (especially because the carpet was gross), but doable. If I had a large house worth of carpet I would’ve wanted a bigger machine. But for my situation I’m okay with spending more time for less money. If you’re willing to spend more to save time and/or you’re wanting to cover a large area, look elsewhere. Pros: * Very lightweight and compact. * Easy to assemble and use. * Good suction. Cleaned out old stains in my carpet with just a few passes. It pulls most of the water out so your carpets get cleaner and you’re not left with soaking wet floors. * Separate tanks for dirty and clean water. Dirty tank is much bigger so there’s room for suds. Cons: * Small tanks. You run out of clean water and/or need to empty very frequently. It took me about 30 mins to do one pass of a 10x10 foot area, for which I needed to empty the tanks probably 3-4 times. * Small width, so it doesn’t cover very much surface area with each pass of the machine. This also means you spend more time to cover the same area. * The brush is cylindrical and spins like a regular vacuum brush. I was actually surprised at how much staining it got out, but for very dirty or ground in stains you would probably need to pre treat and scrub by hand to loosen them up before using this machine. * No attachments, like you’d use to clean furniture or car seats. Tips for using: * Vacuum VERY WELL with a regular vacuum before using this machine. If you have pets and fluffier carpet, I recommend getting some type of carpet brush to pick up embedded fur. * To use this you fill the clean water tank with hot water plus whatever cleaner you want to use (there is a mark on the water tank for each), then hold down the trigger in the handle to dispense the clean water and let go to suck it back up. * The directions recommend going forward and back with the trigger held, then forward and back with it released. I recommend going forward/back with the trigger held once, then repeat without it held until the carpet feels reasonably dry. The reviews that complained of sopping wet carpets were probably either holding the trigger down for too many passes, or not going back over enough times to suck up water. * GO SLOWLY. Especially as you are pulling the machine back toward yourself. If you go too fast it won’t have enough time to suck water back up. * Use hot water. The directions say 60C/140F. I used very hot tap water. * A little soap goes a long way. IMO just a splash of soap is enough, this was enough to pull up a lot of foam (and dirt) out of my carpets. Just plain water will pull out dirt too. * Do a pass with soap over the whole room, then go back with only water in the tank to get the soap back out. Repeat till water runs clear. * Some reviews complained that the dirty tank leaked. It won’t if you pull it straight up and out of the cleaner and then hold it upright until you empty it. If you turn it upside down then flip back upright it will leak a little out the bottom. Also, make sure that it’s properly attached when you click it back in. * If your carpets are really gnarly like mine, expect to spend a lot of time on them (maybe even a multi-day project as you complete individual rooms). I did 4 passes over the room and was still getting dirty water coming up. If I used an industrial strength machine I probably could’ve done less passes, but I’m willing to spend more time since I saved some money buying this machine. Overall, I think this is a really good purchase IF you know what to expect. Is this a professional level machine with tons of power and a huge water tank? Definitely not. Can you get a professional level clean with this? Maybe, but it’s going to take quite a while. If you want to save yourself some money but have the time to spend, and not a huge amount of area to cover, this little machine is a good option. Carpet cleaner rental near me is $60 a pop, not including attachments or soap. I was willing to spend a little more to just buy this even though I knew it would probably take me longer, the convenience of being able to use it whenever I want is worth it to me.
