I wish I could share a before and after picture but I don’t think Amazon would allow me to post a picture of the poopy accident my dog had this morning. Omg. It was everywhere! My dog turns in circles when he’s going #2 so seriously, it was everywhere. This was my first time using my Bissell cleaner and I’m in love! When I saw what he left me this morning, I was tempted to just tear out the carpet (seriously) but after picking up what I could, I got to work with the carpet cleaner machine and you would never know anything happened at all!!! Taking it apart to clean was a bit nasty and troublesome but still definitely worth it.

Pet messes are a package deal when it comes to owning a cat or dog or any pet that is capable of puking or peeing or pooping on the floor. This carpet cleaner works very well and is super simple to use. Its got a small tank so it doesnt take long to fill up. Its not intended to scrub the whole house so dont expect it do so unless you plan on continuously emptying the reservoir multiple times. It is specifically for spot clean up. It works very well and is easy to take apart to clean after each use. No more stress of stains or smells after your pet has an accident. The Bissell carpet cleaner will take care of it.

For over a decade now, I have run a company that supplies, trains, and services professional carpet cleaners, so I hope you will pardon me if I act like I know what Im talking about, lol. I have used everything from a Rug Doctor, all the way up through professional truck mounted machines. I have cleaned carpet and floors in trashed-out apartments, high end hotels, expensive lake houses, hospitals, and everything in between. Urine, vomit, blood, feces, coffee, Kool-aid, you name it and Ive cleaned it. No matter what equipment you use, the concept of getting soil out of a carpet is the same - use the proper type and amount of chemistry, proper heat level in the water, proper agitation to suspend soil, and proper removal of that water with the soil in it. Appropriate dwell time is also necessary for deeply embedded or chronic soiling issues. This machine is quite capable of producing all the proper elements when used correctly. I do, however, have a few recommendations on changes to the instructions given with the machine. First and foremost, use only half of the detergent that they tell you to. No matter how much soil is present, never ever use more than they suggest. I used only half and achieved fantastic results. I would imagine the full dose is only necessary for serious soil issues. Secondly, double up on the amount of dry strokes that you do, AKA passes that you make without pulling the trigger. Keep going over the carpet with the machine until you no longer see any water coming up through the window in the front. The carpet will still feel damp to the touch, but will be dry much more quickly this way. And last, do a freshwater rinse afterward with nothing but water in the clean hopper. NO detergent. You will see a tremendous amount of leftover detergent and soil residue coming up in the freshwater rinse (this step might seem like a pain, but you will be very glad you did it once you realize that otherwise, all of that residue would have been left behind in the carpet for you to walk on.) Follow up with the same double amount of dry strokes after the fresh rinse. No carpet cleaning machine, no matter how powerful, can remove years of soil build-up in just one use. Particularly if the soil has gotten down to the bottom of the carpet, where it is sewn or glued into its backing. Trying to soak the carpet and get all the way down there has the potential to destroy the carpets binding and destroy it. So dont bother. (NOTE BENE: This machine, or any other home machine for that matter, is not going to get pet urine out of the padding thats installed under the carpet, and soaking the carpet in an attempt to do so is only going to result in serious problems and microbial growth. Dont do it. Please.) The big difference between home cleaning and the professional truck mounted units is the amount of time its going to take to get the same result. You may have to use the machine multiple times, with a few days in between to let it dry completely, to get abused carpet to look and smell good again. And remember that soil and damage are two different things, so if your carpet is worn or abraded or has had its pile reversed by foot traffic, that is not something that can be cleaned away. It is damage, not dirt. So dont expect miracles. The brush on this machine is very good at fluffing the pile up and correcting crush damage, and it dug an amazing amount of pet hair out of our freize even after a thorough vacuuming. If you are willing to be patient, use the machine multiple times, and follow all of the advice Ive given, there is no reason you cannot get almost as good a result from this machine as you would from having a professional come do it for you. The difference is in the time its going to take, both in the cleaning and in running back and forth with the water hoppers. I still recommend hiring a professional for those serious yearly deep cleans, but if you have pets or small children in the house this machine is an excellent way to avoid add-on charges for chronic soil and serious restoration issues when you do have the professionals come in to service you.

I ordered another small unit just to clean up pet stains and it actually didn’t work at all, it was another vendor. I called product service and was advised to return it. So I started reading the reviews again on Amazon and watching customer videos and decided to give Bisdell turbo clean power brush pet a try. Well it came in a day and I used it the same day it arrived. It works great. I have a few area rugs and have a 6 month old puppy. The Bissell is easy to put together just a few slide on pieces, instructions are clear and I cleaned all four of my area rugs. I was truly amazed how great the rugs look now. I certainly was paying the carpet cleaning a lot more than what this Bissell cost, very affordable. I highly recommended it. Just follow the instructions and it will work great!

This machine is much nicer than I the older model and works fantastic my large 7x 5 and my 8 x 10 and 3 x 9 runners. Great great does a good job cleaning and so much easier to clean the machine. To bad they moved the on/off switch but that is minor. Worth every penny.

I am surprised at how well this carpet cleaning vacuum worked! I only spot cleaned some major dirty spots on my carpet and yes! I used the small cleaning solution included and it got out my two year olds carrot vomit stain, dirt and grime under my husbands chair, a spot where a large coke was spilled, and high traffic areas. When I can find plenty of time, Id really like to do the whole room. I agree with other reviewers, go back and forth holding the spray button and then continue to go over it until you get as much water out. It was still pretty damp. Id like to be able to clean it at night where it could dry all night without anyone walking on it, but well see. The clean water tank is small, and has to be refilled often. But with the price and how well it works, Id still call it a win.

I was pleasantly surprised at how well this lifted the dirt and stains.from my carpet. I have a rescue dog who has separation anxiety so he pees and this machine cleaned that too. The downside to this machine is that the holding tanks are rather small so you can only clean a very small area before having to empty the dirty tank and refill the clean tank. I also wish this had a wand or extension to clean closer to the walls and couches.

Used a non rotating carpet cleaner that constantly leaked, even after replacing seals and other parts. This unit is easy to assemble and operate. There have been no leaks after multiple uses (about 15 times). The rotating brush is perfect for extracting pet hair and other debris.

The easiest carpet cleaner I have ever used. Even though it is a very basic model, it is a true champ. So easy to clean up, empty and rinse the tank, and carry.

I use this on a couple 9x12 synthetic rugs and smaller rugs. And it is good for that. If you plan on using this on a large fully carpeted area, think again. You need to be looking at something in the price range of $500. Having said that, after using this, I realized that carpets/rugs are just large dust rags that do nothing but absorb dust...no matter how much you vacuum. The dark colored water that results from cleaning the carpet is really just super dusty water. I have no carpeting in my house. Its all hard laminate flooring with large rugs that we replace every 2-4 years (if I can get one year for every $100 I spend on the rug, Ive won). And I run a robot vacuum every other day on a schedule. This setup is so much better than carpeting and this machine taught me this. There is no reason in the world you want to keep carpeting or rugs more than 4 years, tops. After that, just get rid of it. Its entirely too dusty and dirty. And, obviously, changing carpeting every 4 years seems like it would be too costly/hassle-some. But running a robot vacuum on a hard floor, plus a swiffer wetjet mopping, is so much cleaner than any carpet. This machine taught me that carpets are just...naaaasty. I use this machine once a month on my large rugs and it keep the rugs nice and fresh. If you dont know when the last time your rug was cleaned, I strongly recommend you do a first cleaning with nothing but plain water. Also, use the hottest water youre allowed to..which is 140F water. Then go back and redo it with the cleaning solution. You might even consider doing plain water twice and then using the cleaning solution for a third run. If you clean the rug monthly, there is no need to do a double or triple wash each time. But any longer than monthly, and you need to a double wash each time. I promise. Having used this several times for a few months, Ive learned rugs (and carpet) take on dust like I did not know before getting this. And yes I do vacuum with an upright and a robot vacuum regularly. The biggest problem with this unit is that the clean- and dirty-water reservoirs are super small. You end up filling/emptying very often which makes the process take a lot longer. The counterargument is that this allows the clean water to stay hot. I leave a pot of water on the stove, which I refill when I refill the clean water reservoir. I mix the clean stove water with hot tap water to a temp of 140F. I use a cooking thermometer to check the temp. Then I pour into the reservoir and then add cleaning solution. The hot water honestly does make a big difference. I also run a dehumidifier and ceiling fan (on high) in the room with the rug when Im done. Also, you have to clean the machine itself after every use. Big hassle, but you have to do it. Since I have to take apart to clean it, I store the machine in the box it came in. You could leave it assembled in a closet. But since its easy to take apart and put back together, I just put it back in its box. I also like the Bissell brand of cleaning solutions that Ive used. Have a nice not-overpowering smell and they do leave behind a little protective coating.
