BLACK+DECKER 16 Inches Stand Fan with Remote

After having this fan for 2 and a half years now, I have only one complaint. I tried to move it and the plastic shroud crumbled in my hands like a cracker when I barely touched it. It broke into a whole lot of small sharp pieces and scraped my hands up quite a bit. Other than the brittle plastic, it has worked flawlessly for the entire time. It never sat in the sun or anything like that so Im not sure why it became so delicate. I was just thinking about ordering another one but this certainly gives me second thoughts. For the record Black & Decker, Id rather pay a few dollars more to have all metal instead of just the front cover.

Our upstairs gets really warm in the summer wven with the ac on. Got this fan for our room just needed something that would help cool the room down not anything fancy. This fan does a great job, comes with a remote (already lost lol), and great white noise. It was easy to put together and is sturdy. Definitely not quite which I like but both my husband and daughter say that the light that indicates that the fan is on, at night the light is too bright. It doesnt bother me. We ordered another one for the kids room.

This fan works amazingly very quiet

Quality could be better. Made cheaply now days for the price but it was the cheapest I could find. Wasn’t looking to pay a lot for the quality you get. Most of these things look like they’re getting parts from China and it shows.

I found this very simple to assemble. Unlike another reviewer, I thought the instructions were quite clear. Took maybe 15 minutes. I purchased this fan to replace an old one that had become noisy. The old one was manual (no remote) and - Ive come to discover - also quite weak. I kept it right next to my bed, so it was easy to adjust during the night without a remote. This fan is much more powerful and theres no way I could keep it that close to the bed. Even on the low setting, it would be way too much. I keep it across the room and therefore the remote is very handy. Its pretty easy to use in the dark, as it only has a few buttons. The fan can also be operated manually using the buttons located on the unit itself. The fan is relatively quiet - at least it doesnt rattle, like my old fan. The base, unlike my previous fan, is not hollow and actually fairly heavy. Keeps the fan very stable. My one complaint concerns the blue lights that indicate that the fan is on and the power setting selected. In the dark, those blue lights are surprisingly bright. Im tempted to tape over them, but worried about blocking the receiver for the remote. All-in-all, Im pleased with the purchase, quality, ease of assembly and price. I just wish those blue lights were less bright!

I’m really happy with my purchase! The packaging was easy to open and the assembly directions were clear. It was pretty easy to put together. The metal cage around the fan blade comes in two circular halves and requires pushing the two together until they snap in. One of the circular halves was a little bent/distorted from shipping which made this a challenge, but it was possible to do with a little effort. I’ve caught my finger in the fan blade at full speed and survived to tell the tale with no injury so I’m pleased with its safety. The four cats in my house have yet to knock the fan over which is a testimony to how sturdy it is while still being light enough for me to easily move it around. The fan at the top bends down and up easily and the height can be adjusted although it’s kind of a pain to do. It comes with a remote to change the fan level but you cant change the setting from rotating 180 degrees to a still position from the remote. You have to physically pull/push a plug at the top of the fan. It’s not silent but it’s quiet enough to sleep with it on. Overall pretty good.

Its not bad but not battery powered as claimed in the product specs

Works great. No complaints. I like the timer feature I use it on my seed starters. It quiet and outs out good air. Seems built well and it was cheap. What more do you really need in a fan?

It oscillates for better circulation. I never used the remote much, but it works just fine. The fan is a little loud, but doesnt get much louder on levels 2 and 3. I personally wanted a fan that made a considerable amount of noise to help me sleep and mask noise I make throughout the day through my thin wall to my parents room, which their heads are quite literally leaning on. Easy to assemble and disassemble for even easier cleaning. All thats left to gauge in this fan is its longevity. See you all in a few decades hopefully!

The fan is great however, I did not receive the remote control, nor did I get fan clips. Amazon was not responsible for replacement parts. The Black and Decker website did not even show the remote so I could buy separately .
