BLACK+DECKER 16 Inches Stand Fan with Remote

My bedroom ceiling fan died this summer. I live in a hot climate, where a ceiling fan being out of commission is not a problem you can comfortably ignore. I took a chance on this fan just to have a quick replacement until I deal with the ceiling fan. Now were in October and fixing the ceiling fan has been put off repeatedly because this thing is better than the ceiling fan in my opinon. Remote control is a nice extra. It will turn fan on or off, has a separate button that cycles through 3 fan speeds, and a timer button that seems to start a turn off in 30 minutes countdown--I cant say as I run it all night. You might want a button to control oscillation, but theres where youre out of luck. Im assuming that this saves money, and honestly, it doesnt really matter to me -- who is switching between direct fan and oscillating fan over and over anyhow? Just having the remote and adjusting speed from bed is the best part. Noise. It isnt quiet even on lowest speed. If you watch TV at night in your bedroom, you are going to have to turn up the TV and/or turn down the fan most likely. Again, to me this is an easy compromise for live-preserving breezes. Assembly was pretty easy. Attaching the stand pieces together didnt really need instructions if youve ever put anything with a telescoping base together before, but there are instructions. Youll need to attach the fan blade and secure it with a nut, and youll need to patiently work the front cover of the fan into place to keep fingers out of the spinning blade. This was the longest part of the build because it kept popping loose when I almost had it secured. Maybe I just wasnt good at it :-) It certainly wasnt annoying enough to detract from recommending the fan. All in all, it has outlived my intended use for it, and shows no issues. Ive come to like it better than the ceiling fan, and the noise kinda fades into the background (Im usually running on medium or low). If I ever fix the ceiling fan this will be a nice addition to the garage-workshop. If.

On high speed the whole fan vibrates and makes the motor cover vibrate..Loudly. I wedged in some cardboard between the fan cage and motor to stop the noise. Its a $35 fan.

Works well and love having the remote control, also easy to put together.

Size color easy to operate

Purchased on Jun 17, 2021. Today the outside plastic band that holds in place the metal grill covering over the moving fan parts became so brittle, it broke when the fan fell over and was very easy to snap it into smaller pieces for the trash. Fan looks more streamlined without the cover and the blades will be easier to clean, but one would need to watch where one steps near the fan.

I dont think I have it assembled correctly but its working well. Quiet and versatile

I always buy Black & Decker products because they never disappoint. This fan was easy to assemble and provides great air circulation. I especially like the remote control!

Fan works as it should. Did come in broken where the back screw should go to keep the top on is completely broken. It works though

This fan works amazingly very quiet

I like this fan, its basic and powerful. The assembly was easy, but like others said it was hard to get the front grille on the fan. I just gave up and left it mostly snapped-on with only a tiny gap at the top. The underside of the base is kinda dusty and has a weird plastic-y smell. My fan looks good but I feel like its used. So, I think I shouldve bought a used one anyway.
