We just moved into a new house and our dryer had a different plug to the socket installed by the builder. After looking at getting a new cord, we looked for an adapter. It works like a treat, much easier than rewiring a new cord.

I moved into an older house with a 3-prong outlet, while my dryer is newer and has a 4-prong plug. What I didnt realize is that there is more than one configuration for 4-prong plugs. I found one at Lowes, but it was for RV use and had the incorrect prongs on it for my situation. So my advice is to look as closely as possible at the photos for this or any other adapter, and meticulously compare them to what youre trying to connect to be sure youre getting what you need. This one was perfect for my needs.

it was plugged in it started to melt had to get a new outlet plus it shocked me when i unplugged it. not a good buy. not worth the money.
