> 24 hourI ordered this printer, I can only see disadvantage in it: 1.takes long to start printing, guess it is wrming up 2. inks run down very quickly 3. scanner does a nonsense with the OCR documents 4.the photo quality; is not all that I expected 5. Too costly for the quality of prints 6. HP better any day.

> 24 hourinitially, I though the product came without a power cord and also the USB cord, I was wrong and found both of them tucked inside with the printer ink. The USB cord was a y cord and I plugged them both in. Set up was easy and automatic. I have an HP 8.1 computer and there was no problem in set up which was for Vista. If you do not have a internal rom drive, an external drive is needed to use the set up disk. Print went well immediately. Time will tell how long the printer will work and how well. My old cannon printer lasted many years and I am hoping this one will too. Just like my old printer this one makes noises too, but I do not care it does not bother me, but it might be annoying to some. The instruction manual was clear and detailed. I read some reviewers got duds, and that is terrible, and might be due to a lack of quality control.

> 24 hourThe Canon MP480 is a good all-in-one. It scans really well, prints well, and is easy to use. My only gripe is that it sucks ink like an old pickup sucks gas. The Canons XL size cartridge lasted a shorter time than the refill size on my old printer did. If you get this printer, my recommendation is to use it to print things you absolutely have to have at home and forget about printing photos. Photos will drain the cartridge dry in nothing flat.

> 24 hourI purchased this printer two weeks ago to replace an unsatisfactory Kodak printer. The MP480 has a fairly small footprint, and it handles paper quite well. As for printing? Excellent. Even on the cheap (20#) all-purpose paper I use much of the time, colors are bright and clear, and so are the images. It will make you wonder whether all is well as it grumbles to itself while it prepares to print, but its fine, and you can turn down the noise for color printing. Its too early to tell whether it uses a great deal of ink, but even so, its a dependable, highly competent printer for the price.

> 24 hourHave used this printer now for two years and it is still functioning well. Other than the usual complaints of high-cost ink and no faxing abilities, my only complaint (recently discovered) is that all functions shut down when the ink on this printer runs dry. For example, I need to scan a document into my computer. I ran out of ink yesterday and received an error from the printer. Even after shutting it off, the error is still there and I cannot override it to scan, despite the fact this doesnt require any ink. VERY INCONVENIENT, poor programming. Still, for the initial cost of this printer its a good deal, especially if you dont print all the time and are conservative with ink.

> 24 hourThe printer is good for what I need but it has a couple small issues. The display screen will not open all the way. Additionally, the paper feed is intermittent and registers no paper when there is actually paper. All and all for the price, it will suit my needs fine. I have experience with Canon printers so I can trouble shoot these issues when they arise.

> 24 hourGiving me an error code telling me ink overflow is filled, disabling printer. Call to Canon support informs me no replacement part is available, cannot be replaced or emptied at home. Gave me a local authorized repair place that wanted close to the purchase price to repair it. No reset code is available to reset the unit. Their solution...well offer you a lower cost printer at a 10% discount. Not the fault of the support people, but in poor design. Very poor design, making an otherwise fine printer obsolete, forcing me to buy a new printer.

> 24 hourI bought this printer to replace my MP360 which I had for ten years & loved it. To bad they dont make that one anymore or I would have gotten it again. Anyway, this printer does very well over all. The only drawback is it really goes through an ink cartridge rather quickly which disappoints me because of the cost of them. I do a lot of photography work & the quality of the photos is excellent, just those darn cartridges empty fast.

> 24 hourI was one of the lucky ones who received this printer for free as part of a student deal at the Apple store where when you buy a laptop, you get a printer and iPod Touch for free. Best freebie ever. This has become one of my favorite printers and its been very reliable for me the past 5 years as an undergrad. Super fast at printing stuff so for someone who sometimes had to rush to get to class, it never failed me. As an artist, it scans and prints my pieces in pretty decent quality especially when printing from Photoshop. Good enough for what I need anyway. Also seems to be pretty conservative with ink since it took half a year with printing tons of stuff each day until I had to replace the ink cartridges. Even when it was on low ink, still was able to print out a couple of densely word packed, 50 page essays without an issue. Love this printer and its been working well with all my operating systems and Ive upgraded them at least 3 times so I have 3 different versions in the whole house and it works well with each of them without any bugs. Even after all these years, I still have it on my desk and hope it lasts me for at least another few when i have to go to grad school. Also we have an Epson and HP printers in the house that belong to my parents and they never were as reliable for me anyway as this one.
