> 3 dayWe purchased the Canon MP480 (all-in-one no fax) along with a new computer purchase late in February so have only had it in service approx 1 month. Set up and putting into service could not have been easier. There was a bit of confusion following the instructions, but determined that the automatic find and initiation was beter than instructions to the point that it seemed seamless. We have a 64 bit Windows Vista computer. The scan/copy aspects are smooth and easy with good interface. We downloaded Adobe PDF plugins for Word so dont know if that is the means by which we can save scanned items directly to PDF but that is neat especailly directly to multi-page documents (Only have Adobe Reader software). They are a bit large in size but efficient. Printing a photo on the included 4x6 print paper was very impressive. Printing in general is pretty fast ... home office with not intensive requirements. The printer is a bit noisy, but knowing that something is not breaking makes it OK. Have not had any ink problems thus far. Other reviewers complained about ink usage. The Amazon $70 with free shipping is a real value ... did not see anything to compare. I read reviews and also determined the Canon was a good buy ... performance wise as well.

> 3 dayI am not sure how long the ink will last, but the quality of the print is great for the money. Mine is mostly used for print and pictures and I have found it easy to operate and has good quality. I would recommend this printer.

> 3 dayI was one of the lucky ones who received this printer for free as part of a student deal at the Apple store where when you buy a laptop, you get a printer and iPod Touch for free. Best freebie ever. This has become one of my favorite printers and its been very reliable for me the past 5 years as an undergrad. Super fast at printing stuff so for someone who sometimes had to rush to get to class, it never failed me. As an artist, it scans and prints my pieces in pretty decent quality especially when printing from Photoshop. Good enough for what I need anyway. Also seems to be pretty conservative with ink since it took half a year with printing tons of stuff each day until I had to replace the ink cartridges. Even when it was on low ink, still was able to print out a couple of densely word packed, 50 page essays without an issue. Love this printer and its been working well with all my operating systems and Ive upgraded them at least 3 times so I have 3 different versions in the whole house and it works well with each of them without any bugs. Even after all these years, I still have it on my desk and hope it lasts me for at least another few when i have to go to grad school. Also we have an Epson and HP printers in the house that belong to my parents and they never were as reliable for me anyway as this one.

> 3 dayThe price of this printer is way too expensive and the build quality very cheap and it has very limited features. This unit is not Bluetooth ready. You will need to buy the adapter that can be purchased for $50.00!!!!! I returned to Amazon for a full refund.

Greater than one weekThis printer was easy to install and works great. It has a very nice set of options and it is extremely easy to use. The printer was delivered in the time frame provided. Overall, I am very satisfied with my new printer. The only minor drawback is the size...a little bit bigger than I expected.

> 3 dayI see that we have owned this since early March, 2009, nearly six years. We sell online and do a lot of printing. This printer has served us well. We actually own another. its a good thing... I had an error message just now. The Ink absorber is full. Who knew? I have researched the steps. It is kind of a dirty job. And the counter must be reset. The information is freely available online. The new part is only available from Canon. Here on Amazon they sell six models. I was unable to determine which one is for this machine. Here is a middle-priced one: http://www.amazon.com/Sparepart-Canon-ABSORBER-SHEET-QC1-0049-000/dp/B001U0AM0C/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1423692732&sr=1-4&keywords=canon+ink+absorber It is $38 plus $35 to ship it... say WHAT? For a little sponge thing?? Oh, and one is $524: http://www.amazon.com/Sparepart-Canon-Waste-Absorber-QM1-0659-000/dp/B0077JQSXK/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1423692732&sr=1-5&keywords=canon+ink+absorber They >cant< be serious. *Sigh.* Good thing we have another similar one that hasnt seen much use. We will switch them out.

> 3 dayHave used this printer now for two years and it is still functioning well. Other than the usual complaints of high-cost ink and no faxing abilities, my only complaint (recently discovered) is that all functions shut down when the ink on this printer runs dry. For example, I need to scan a document into my computer. I ran out of ink yesterday and received an error from the printer. Even after shutting it off, the error is still there and I cannot override it to scan, despite the fact this doesnt require any ink. VERY INCONVENIENT, poor programming. Still, for the initial cost of this printer its a good deal, especially if you dont print all the time and are conservative with ink.
