Greater than one weekI am a college student and I have this printer in my room and I love it. I get a lot of printing for the ink and the ink is not killer expensive either. Its just overall a good buy. Plus it has a scanner/copier in it and both work very well also!

> 3 dayi love this printer, it works great. its not SUPER loud but it does make noise but thats fixable since it has a quiet mode. picture quality is good, it actually surprised me. i also like that it has preset templates, for example you can print a checklist or notebook page just by selecting the option, i also like that it has a button to print color copies and one to print black and white copies this works great since you dont have to turn on the computer to choose a setting. it can actually do a lot of things without a computer except for maybe printing a document thats ON your computer but it can print it without the computer if its on a memory card. i was expecting some updates from my lexmark 3 in 1 dinosaur but i was just amazed at all the things this printer can do. Im sure if what you want is a for heavier buisness use you might disagree with me but if you want it for your average home use its perfect, and the price is a total bargain! the ink is a bit pricey compared to lexmark but i purchase the XL and i really dont print too many things so it works for me.

> 3 dayThe printer is good for what I need but it has a couple small issues. The display screen will not open all the way. Additionally, the paper feed is intermittent and registers no paper when there is actually paper. All and all for the price, it will suit my needs fine. I have experience with Canon printers so I can trouble shoot these issues when they arise.

Greater than one weekPros: Pretty good printer for the price. I needed an inexpensive printer with a small footprint to take along on RV trips and this one fits the bill. Price for ink is OK. Excellent copy funtion and very good scanning. Photo printing is OK but not as good as my MP610 with individual ink tanks and 1 picoliter print head. Cons: Looks like a roaster oven. No individual ink tanks for color. Very noisy. Construction a bit flimsy but fit and finish is good, like all Canon products.

> 3 dayThis used printer came in good condition which was a wonder considering the box looked like it had been handled by a gorilla. The printer is working OK..... but, the problem is it came without the user guide and from China. The shipper knew it was going to America and it would have been nice if they had put it in to the English language. We have not tried real hard to put it in to English and Im sure that we will be able to do that. Just keep in mind that this can happen when your product is coming from a country other than America. Other than that one little problem, we are happy with our purchase. Thxs.

> 3 dayThe scanner function will not work. Very poor documentation and support. Ive been using systems as a professional for over 20 years. Ive helped develop and document numbers of systems. The better-name brands will usually install or troubleshoot readily. I have a new HP Pavilion with Vista pre-installed (of course, Vista sucks big-time in its own right.) The scanner on this device refuses to work. Spent a day on it. Nothing yet. I got it because I wanted the scanner. So far, no joy.

> 3 dayThe printer does as advertised. I mostly use it to print papers for school. I try my best not to print anything else because the cost of the ink is crazy. The only reason I did not give this printer 5 stars is because it uses ink pretty fast. I got this printer May 2009 and I have not had any issues. I use the printer, copier and scanner. They all work well and it is easy to use. Its pretty self explanatory. I hooked it up with a random usb cord I had on hand. The printer does not come with a cord so if you decide to get the printer, then remember to buy a cord to attach it to your computer. ************************************************** I am updating my review Jan 23 2015. I have had this printer for about 6 years and I am still in school. Now full time instead of part time. I have been using it mostly for scanning documents for class more than printing in the past 2 years. I only find myself printing items to return rental textbooks, or return faulty merchandise, also to print coupons once in awhile. However, if your print head is not recognized then you cannot do anything not even scan with the printer. My copier worked fine with the canon ink and then it started giving an error saying B200 printer error see manual. There is nothing in the manual but I went on Google and none of the resolutions worked for me. The last resolution was to unplug the printer for 24 hours, I did that and now there is an error saying U051 print head is not installed, install print head. The same print heads are in the printer. I opened new ink and put it in the printer and it still did not work. That is $40 worth of new ink that will be thrown in the trash. I am getting an HP printer. I am finished with Canon because this is the second printer that stopped working for weird reasons. I gave the printer 2 stars for lasting 6 years. Also to get the a new print cartridge that cost $125. In other words, I will use that money for a printer instead. I going with HP because the cost of ink is half the price. Pros: lasted 6 years (mostly scanning) Prints Copies Scans Cons Does not come with USB Cord to attach it to the computer Expensive ink Ink does not last Stopped working for no reason Paper jams are common Scanner has light black lines on the edges that cannot go away Reprinting scanned copies looks terrible

> 3 dayThe price on this printer was great, I bought it just to print a newsletter that I send out every month. I used to print this on a Pixma IP3500 and used 2 1/2 black cartridges at $13 each. This one used 4 cartridges at over $20 each! Id have trouble recommending this one, the cheap price will be quickly made up by the cost of the ink!

> 3 dayFor the money, this is a dandy home printer for the non demanding. It gets the job done. Ive tried printing 8x10 pictures, and I saw about what I expected. If I want higher quality pictures printed, I need to spend more money, end of story there. But for basics, its just fine. Use the larger cartridges though. It is a tad thirsty, but not unreasonably so. UPDATE 10-02-2012: This printer/scanner still works flawlessly. Its a little slow but, it has NEVER let me down.

> 3 dayeasy set up, easy use- scans, copies and prints pretty well. Not bad at all for the price. It does use a fair amount of ink but thats about par for the course for an inkjet.
