Hi, i was faithful to Canon printers, this was my 3rd canon printer... I hated Epson printers cuz since long time ago, the epsons automatic features and ink level sw were not accurate... this was the main reason why i have been faithful to canon printers... but not anymore, i had s200, ip1500, now this one... and seems to be that as others say, there are chips in each cartridge, and my original black and color cartridges are no longer recognized by the printer, the printer sw says there is no more ink, but there IS still ink left.... I guess canon become very greedy... shame on you canon... i was so loyal to your brand for nothing...

Im disappointed! After reading many reviews and all the technical specifications, I did not foresee this difficulty. Today I purchased this machine to install on my Macintosh, operating system OS X.4, which all the specs say is compatible, but the installation CD states that it will work only with operating system OS X.5. So now what? Back to the store I go, I guess. False advertising Id call it.

Ive had a HP printer for years. Id replace the ink about once a year, thats with printing a ton of pictures. I went to buy ink for my Canon and commented to the salesman about how quickly the printer ran out of ink. He told me that they are shipped with a partial ink cartridge and a full one would last forever. Well that was Monday, this is Friday and Im out of ink! I printed up around thirty fliers. Thats it. I think Ill go back to HP!

The detail is great, even with printing xrays. However, if you print photos a lot, realize that you will need to purchase another within 12-15 months. There is a part called an ink collector which gathers dried ink from cleaning the printer heads after every print (This is what makes such awesome photos.). Laypeople cannot dump it; only an authorized Cannon Maintenance Individual can get into this sucker and dump it. If you are a corporation on a regular route with a Cannon maintenance person, then youll probably be OK. We are a small office and cant afford to have a Cannon Rep on retainer. A one-time maintenance visit to dump out the ink collector costs 150.00. Since the printer is 140.00, I call this a disposable printer.

I bought this printer recently, and every time I print anything it feels like Im chugging a mountain dew while snowboarding down the Rockies on a snowboard thats actually a lightning bolt, and its as if someone transplanted the Rockies into some extreme combination of Disneyland and the worlds largest half-pipe, with girls in bikinis cheering me on at all sides, and theyre all just shouting my name and telling me how great I am for picking such an awesome thing to print and we all cant stop drinking mountain dew but theres an endless supply so its okay.

I bought this used for a reasonable price. When it first arrived I kept getting an error when trying to install the ink cartridges. Turns out the printer had sat for a few months. I cleaned the heads and the cartridge, and all is well. I wanted a printer that you can purchase re manufactured ink for. I didnt want to spend a lot on ink. Secondarily, I wanted a printer that printed a decent amount of b/w per min. Lastly, I wanted it to be portable. I am 100% satisfied with this printer. I do not have experience with the photo printing, only black and white.

Ive only used it for print so far, and the quality is excellent. No mechanical problems. I would like the option to print from back to front (spend 30 minutes looking for the feature last night to no avail) because documents come out face up so you have to re-organize documents that print out.

The Canon Pixma IP2600 / 2600 is a P.O.S. It prints super light, as if the color in was watered down. You get what you pay for. Pay $25 more and get the 4600 and youll be satisfied, but research the ink costs in advance. Also look at generic ink distributors.

The Canon PIXMA printer I received from this seller is an amazing printer/photo printer that does a magnificent job. The quality if the print, the speed of the printing and the photo quality is top notch. I will never send away or bring my memory card to a store for copies again. I now print my own photos and they are sparkling reproductions that are good at even a large size and look wonderful in a photo album or a frame. As far as the printing quality. It is terrific. I keep a very organized recipe notebook where I have punch-holed all of these recipes that I print, sort them in categories (i.e. Poultry, Seafood, Soups, Desserts) and then sub-categories (i.e. by country, white stock soups, beef stock soups) and can easily refer to them when I cook. The seller was generous in that they sent a USB cord with the printer that did not originally come with the product. Plus, it arrived at my home way before the ETA delivery date. This is a trust-worthy seller who cares about the product and customer service guaranteed.
