I have used carefresh bedding for years with both my birds and my guinea pigs. It makes great bedding

Both my cats hated it without pills inside. I tried to grind the pill and put it inside and force feed the cat. Needless to say that didnt work. Its easier to give them the tiny pill. Surprised since my cats like salmon canned food.

We have 2 young male rats in temporary housing -- aquarium with topper. To ensure we dont have a myco outbreak -- young ones are susceptible -- were cleaning every couple of days. Aspen shavings (NEVER pine or cedar) is our go-to bedding, but one rattie was itchy, so we switched to a tried-and-true shredded paper product we know works great in a bigger, more open cage. Not so great in close quarters with little ones not yet litter trained. So we tried this. Its doing a good job and the ratties love it. Its soft on their little feet, no one is itchy, and they love snuggling in it! For our circumstances, were still cleaning every couple days, and Im not sure we would ever go 10 days (like the package says), but when they move to the big cage, I think we can safely go 5 or 7 days.

Absolutely love it. I used it for bunnies and hamsters, and it woks so much better then woodchips. Takes away the horrible smells that can accompany having a pet. The hamsters love it too. When I clean their cages, they usually just rearrange the chips, then go back to their wheel. When I put this stuff in their cage they played in it for hours. They looked like children playing in snow. The bunny just rolled around in it.

We like the blue paper bedding over wood chips because it is dust free.

Not the same as what you get from the pet store. I agree with the other reviews that this product is clumpy, and dusty. It isn’t the same quality, and doesn’t absorb moisture very well or reduce odor. Disappointed because this was convenient and a good price.

I mixed this with cedar shavings. its the best combo. and my daughter loves it for the color. So although it costs more, it was worth it for the color and as an added bonus the multi color helped disguise what the guinea pigs leave behind.

We have two pet rats. This bedding works well enough. We change it out about every five days, as you start to notice a smell after that point. I took off one star because I have noticed inconsistencies in the color and texture of the bedding. One bag will be bright white and soft, the next will be more gray and coarse with flecks of brown paper in it (both bags are labeled as white). This doesn’t seem to affect the performance, but does raise some questions about the quality of their manufacturing.

This stuff does the job. But it doesn’t hold heat and my hamster will not build a bed out of this stuff unless its the only option in his cage. The blue color does make orange hamsters look good though.
