Catahoula Tarred, Twisted, Nylon Twine, 36 (1 lb)
-
GATHER ROUND.
> 3 dayThis was highly recommended by bushcrafters to use as a substitute for paracord. This will do VERY nicely to do a bunch of things. Tent guy lines, Ridge lines , tripods, emergency shoe laces and a bunch of other tasks. #36 tarred bank line is incredibly strong. This particular company makes some premium cordage. If you want to put it into your pack I suggest you put it into a large zip lock bag, it is tarred, not messy but it might interact with some synthetic materials. It’s probably resistant to insects as well. IMO, it’s a prepper must have. Nice quality line.

> 3 dayI love this line! For those times you need a length of line to use outdoors Catahoula line is an excellent choice. I have re-strung several wind chimes over the years with this line and am very satisfied with how well it performs. Excellent product.

> 3 daythe only thing i could say about this that is a draw back is that it is hard to tie in knots since its tarred. that being said its strong, water and rot proof and holds so much weight that i would never buy anything but this line again for my trot line and bushcraft uses

> 3 dayWorks great, havent had any issues with it breaking yet, and a better alternate imo to buying para cord. Also i did what one of the other guys on here had suggested and plugged the ends, works great for having a container already with your cordage.

> 3 dayI bought a 1lb spool of #36. When I opened the package I noticed the “distinctive” petrol smell, that seems to go away or I got used to it, no big deal unless you move to California. Otherwise, this stuff is great! I am impressed by how you can unwrap about 6” of the stuff and hold it at darned near horizontal. I tied Prusik knots on various materials, all held really well. Bowlines, trucker’s hitch, and arbor knots hold really well too. Tarring helps keep the twist together. You can also singe the ends and press them to finish the end. The tar is a little tacky but doesn’t get on your hands; I’m not sure what kind of sorcery is this.

> 3 dayGreat cordage for many outdoor purposes. Have switched to this for many things for which I used to use paracord. The tar makes the cord easy to handle and knot.
