Good solder flux makes all the difference soldering surface mount components. You can never use too much, and this was easy to clean. TIP: Ive found the easiest way to clean the metal dispensing tips is to briefly soak it in alcohol and then blow it out with an air compressor nozzle. Push the nozzle up tight to the plastic end so no air escapes and it will blow the stuff right out the end.

This is an amazing tacky flux for surface mount rework. I was able to remove and resolder a number of parts that were impossible using normal liquid flux. Some TSOPs, PLCCs, SSOPs...all were a ton easier to remove and resolder. Only issue is cleanup. This is super tacky and super resistant to IPA, flux remover....Though I dont think it really has to be removed in most cases. But its just having a sticky mess on the board that bothers me.

As far as flux goes this is exactly what I was looking for. Easy to set up and the syringe is easy to control the amount you want to add to what your working on, great quality. Price is steep but well worth it, I do wish it was easier to avoid the extra drip that happens after you stop using it, but nothing major still an excellent product, I highly recommend.

This made surface mount soldering super easy! Very first thing I have ever surface mount soldered was a 44-pin micro, using this ChipQuik drag soldering ... it came out absolutely perfect. Maybe Im perfect, maybe its maybelline... wups I meant ChipQuik. No but you should still clean your pcb after... of course you should.

This flux works great! I bought two wii controllers on eBay that were not working and traced the problem to the bluetooth chips. The solder joints underneath had cracked, so I squirted some of this flux around it and covered everything else with foil then hit it with the heat gun for 40 sec or so until the flux started to bubble and zippy zap just like magic I had two functioning controllers! Ive used this flux for a few other projects also and it flows good and makes nice joints. The applicator seems to be just the right size, not too big for some pretty fine work and not too small to get clogged up. Ive had this for about two months and it seems to holding up well. Would definitely reccommend for anyone soldering or reworking surface mount components.

Remove QFDs, PLCCs, SOICs and chip components without costly and complex equipment. Use ChipQuik with your existing rework equipment or temperature controlled soldering irons. Special removal alloy has excellent wetting ability with a low melting temperature of 136F (58C). To use: apply paste flux to all leads with syringe; melt ChipQuik alloy on all pins of SMD; with wide iron tip; maintain alloy in a molten state long enough to release chip; lift chip from board with pick-up tool. Safe, affordable, easy and won"t damage sensitive components. NoClean Paste Flux; 10cc syringe with tip.
