Great price for what youre getting - cheaper than in any of the craft stores. The needles are easy to thread but are a bit fragile - if you are working on tough fabric where youre pulling and pushing, the needle may snap. Overall, 4 stars.

I recently started embroidery again and chose these needles since all the previous reviews were positive. Theyre a good quality with no barbs on the tip. Ive been using them every day for the last week and have no complaints about their performance. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the needles are so difficult to pull out of the foam holding them inside the package. I nearly stabbed myself trying to pull one out.

I recently started sewing again. At first I was using needles that had been included in a kit. I ordered these and the difference is obvious. Smooth and sharp. Free and/or cheap can be a bonus, but quality wins out!

I have always felt that Clover sewing and quilting tools from Japan were the highest quality. So when I needed more needles for my redwork embroidery and my Big Stitch hand quilting, I chose Clovers Gold-Eye Embroidery Needles in the sizes 3-9 package. The gold on the eye makes the needle easier to see to pick it up and to thread it. The shape and size of the eye also enhances the threading. It is perfect for the often larger threads used in Big Stitch quilting. I have used size 8 perle cotton threads, 10wt. crochet threads, 12 wt. Sulky threads, 30wt. cotton threads, all with relative ease in these needles. The package comes with multiple sizes so you can choose which one your thread requires. The interior of the eye is well polished so that the thread does not shred while using the needle. And I cant remember ever bending a Clover embroidery needle as I worked. As a quilting teacher, I recommend these Clover Embroidery needles to all my embroidery/Big Stitch hand quilting students.

What can I say? They are sharp, come in appropriate sizes and are well priced.

Had hoped for a couple with larger eyes. Otherwise they are just fine.

Very fragile, break easily. At one point, I was only using two strands of floss and the needle snapped it half coming up through the fabric.

I have tried many different types of embroidery needles. With embroidery needles, you are looking for a large eye to thread the thicker than normal thread easily. These have that. You are also looking for a needle that doesnt bend easily from pressure, as many stitches require intricate movement. These needles are strong and dont bend easily. The most important thing, though, is that the needle is narrow and very sharp so that it glides through fabrics easily so your hands do not become fatigued and so you dont damage the fabric. With many brands of needles to get that you give up the strength of the needle, meaning it will become bent more easily. Clover golden eye needles do not sacrifice strength for sharpness and narrowness. This is the best brand of embroidery needle that I have ever used, and I have been doing embroidery for 50 years. I highly recommend these.

CLOVER-Embroidery or crewel needles have long eyes to take one or more threads of standard cotton or ribbon. Mainly used for either cotton or ribbon embroidery. Gold eye needles: 3/9. 16 needles included.
