> 3 dayThese needles are great but if you are using them for embroidery (especially if practicing for the first time) then be wary that they have a difficult time getting through the fabric that you can get in bulk. If you use something to help assist in pulling it through other than your hand the needle will break. They are nice and sharp and I would recommend them for fabrics that are lighter and less weighted.

> 3 dayWas not sure if this would work on fabrics to tie on labels and these are sharp enough to do that but they are not my go to needles for this purpose. Found hand quilting needles from various vendors that accomplish that.

> 3 dayI always buy the Japanese brand Clover products. High quality throughout. These needles are plenty sharp, but I’m disappointed to find the holes narrow and small, and as expected, even smaller on the smallest needles. Will make do with thread threader.

Greater than one weekI have always felt that Clover sewing and quilting tools from Japan were the highest quality. So when I needed more needles for my redwork embroidery and my Big Stitch hand quilting, I chose Clovers Gold-Eye Embroidery Needles in the sizes 3-9 package. The gold on the eye makes the needle easier to see to pick it up and to thread it. The shape and size of the eye also enhances the threading. It is perfect for the often larger threads used in Big Stitch quilting. I have used size 8 perle cotton threads, 10wt. crochet threads, 12 wt. Sulky threads, 30wt. cotton threads, all with relative ease in these needles. The package comes with multiple sizes so you can choose which one your thread requires. The interior of the eye is well polished so that the thread does not shred while using the needle. And I cant remember ever bending a Clover embroidery needle as I worked. As a quilting teacher, I recommend these Clover Embroidery needles to all my embroidery/Big Stitch hand quilting students.

> 3 dayAfter using a lot of needles that came with various cross stitching kits, I really noticed a difference when using these. They are quite sharp (good for stitching, but be careful!) and the variety of sizes is really nice. The only reason they dont get five stars is because, being cheaper needles, the eyes are not cut as cleanly as they could be; however, the gold gives a nice contrast when youre threading them. I recommend them!

> 3 dayI am presently busy with a quilting project and enjoying the Gold Eye Embroidery needles! They are identified as being for embroidery, but the needles came in a wide range of sizes. So they are working perfectly for quilting! I also have a couple of embroidery projects in process, so have been using the needles for them as well.

> 3 dayI needed a larger needle to hand quilt using DMC perle cotton 8. These needles are great. Easy to thread and very smooth. I’m using the largest size, which I believe is a 3. Nice needles.
