Bought to replace a Yonico 14134 Flush Trim Router Bit which was junk. Obtained to flush trim 1.5 deep large mortises in a 2x12 with Bosch 1617. I have used routers for years, and know not to bottom out the bit when installing and to properly clamp it in. Yoniko bit vibrated violently the minute I turned router on. Tried to trim anyway - bit started working its way up and out of the router. Collet ruined, burnished beyond use. Measured shaft. Yoniko is both eccentric, tapered, and undersized. .490 to .455. Bought new collect and this CMT bit replacements. Worked perfectly. Also, CMT has a shear cut, while Yonico is straight. Stripped off the Yoniko bearings - bit is now in the trash... You always pay for what you get, and not always get what you pay for. CMT shaft is consistently .502. Tightened and stayed tight. Cut perfectly. Live and learn. Buy cheap, get cheap.

Wasn’t the cheapest but it did a great job so far. It’s a beast of a bit compared to what I’m used to. I’ve only used for the top bearing so far. Cut very well though. Time will tell how long it lasts.

Used this to shape the profile on my pergola rafter ends. Wood type was 2” Western Red Cedar. This tool made easy work of this project. I am now in preparations to use this tool on a mahogany electronic guitar body. I expect it will do the same awesome job it did on the pergola.

Well worth the price. Performs well, cuts well, hogs through some heavy pitch 1 1/2 stock no problem. Keep it clean! I use an orange oil based de-greaser and it stays sharp.

This does not cut quite flush, also doesnt leave a smooth cut, should be sharper. I have others Ive used for a few years that are sharper than these new.

The plastic case was cracked upon arrival, but the bit worked very nicely.

Gets the job done. Has maintained its edge throughout many passes on 1.5 cherry.

Never thought I’d write a review for a router bit, but this was a whole different experience. There must be something with how the bit is weighted. When it came up to speed, my router just sounded like it wasn’t wrestling with the bit. I’ve got almost identical bits from Bosch, and several from Freud. This thing cut so smooth, and didn’t work hard. I’m working with extremely dense exotic wood, and I had no tear out, and it just got it done. The Bosch bit tore out a bunch and the Freud bits don’t seem to take advantage of the 1/2 shank by adding some weight to to provide some centrifugal qualities. it. Clearly I have no idea why this is hands done a superior product, but it is. There was no second place. Fact: If you didn’t know where the line “there is no second place” comes from, it was the Queen of England at the inaugural worldwide yacht race in England. When the American yacht came into view heading for the finish, she was informed and immediately asked “Who’s in second place?” The spotter looked and couldn’t see any other sailboats, and said; “Your Majesty, there is no second place!” That became the America’s Cup, the oldest contested race in existence today, and a great line!

This baby is SHARP! Its just what you would expect from CMT. All of the router bits I have are made by them because they are just simply the best.
