> 3 dayI have been using this pretty regularly for a few months now. Great bag and great use of storage. The material stretches a lot so I can basically always stuff things in this bag (although if Im really squishing stuff in the bag starts to look lumpy- ie dirty clothes bag at the end of a trip isnt neatly folded and sometimes it shows), depending on how much effort I want to put into it. Love the clamshell design with the dual access panel. Dual access is a GAME CHANGER. Why dont more suitcase manufacturers use this feature? I dont always know when Ill need my coat to keep me warm, whether on a plane or at my destination, but its so nice to be able to pull my coat out without even removing the bag from the overhead bin! Genius! Its great not having to carry the coat with me separately and risk leaving it somewhere or inadvertently dropping it. (It can be hard to stuff the coat back in the bag without fully opening it up so I just know once its out, its out for the day.)

> 3 dayI travel about once a month. And I take this bag for big and small trips. When I took it for vacation, this bag made it easy for me to separate my clothes from my wifes. Th quiteness of the wheels are the icing on the cake. There are times when I travel really early. The wheels lets me walk around in the house without anyone knowing! The fact that the handle and the wheels are tucked into the case make it really convenient! You would think that you are taking a lot of space but it doesnt. If anything, it lets me separate my clothes even better. Having handles on all sides is great! There are times when I am at a conference and I am flying out right after. The zipper on the top lets me change very easily in a bathroom. BUY this piece of luggage! It is exactly what you are looking for! This bag does fit on a smaller plane. I mean a plane where its one seat on one side and two on the other, you will have to put it horizontally. I have done it myself, some airlines wont let you take it on no matter what.

> 3 dayI saw a negative review here and had to chime in. I bought one in Dec 2012, writing this Sept 2017. It is the best suitcase Ive ever had. I travel a few times/month for work. It shows zero wear on the fabric or zippers. Wheels and retractable handle still perform perfectly. I can pack a weeks worth pretty easily. Love this bag!!! If my bag does fail, I would order another immediately.

Greater than one weekUPDATE: Great marketing, poor product. This bag actually lasted us about three trips before the corners developed scuffs and holes. I have had other recent trouble with Timbuk2 quality (on the Command bag), so I believe this company, while innovative with cool marketing), need to spend more time and money on quality. The other problem that has developed is the handle jams when retracting it. We have had to struggle with manually pushing in the stop tabs. Innovative features are great, but dont matter if the bag does not last. Finally, customer service isnt so great. They respond all cute and cavalier-like, but pictures wont do. They want you to send the bag to them (at your expense) so they can take a look and tell you whether or not they will charge you for the fix. I was once a Timbuk2 fan, bit no more for me.

> 3 dayTypical Timbuk2 excellent design and execution, is disappointingly -- or deceptively? -- not sized as indicated. The Mediums measurements are shown on the website to be measured from floor to top of handle, which is the correct way to measure (e.g., from Uniteds website: The maximum dimensions for a carry-on bag are 9 inches x 14 inches x 22 inches (22 cm x 35 cm x 56 cm), including handles and wheels.). However, when measured properly, this bag measures just over 23 -- that is, its not in compliance. The bag was not measured by Timbuk2 including handles and wheels, even though the graphics on their site seem to show that it was -- instead, the measurements are for the bag only. If you get this bag for domestic travel, you might be forced to check it (for that matter, if you get the small for international travel, its not in compliance either). Timbuk2 is far from alone in using deceptive measurements, the majority of bagmakers seem to do the same.

> 3 dayInnovative, the clam shell make some people like it ans some not. The shoe pocket is nice for liquids and a pair of sunglasses or flip flops. The outer pocket is quite small and only about a 1/2 thick so it will hold a slim tablet or headphones and thin objects like documents. I bought the small version for international travel as my existing bag is a bit larger in size. Good if you need an international size bag, if looking at domestic sized carry ons I would probably go with a more traditional style for extra room and pockets.

> 3 dayThis bag looks great and the reviews are consistently good; which, after much research and consideration led me to purchase it. However, my first impression upon receiving this bag was that the design is lacking in several main areas. As a mechanical engineer I am very picky when it comes to design and build quality. One of the main reasons I purchased this bag was because of the robust looking, external telescopic handle and skateboard wheels. Awesome concept but the design and build quality really let me down. This was apparent upon my first time using this bag. The release mechanism inside the tubes is not supported well and therefore rattles around when youre rolling on anything rougher than a polished airport floor. The rattling is amplified by the tubes and it is utterly annoying especially for a bag that you just dropped $200+ on. I tried to contact Timbuk2 on their customer support line but after three failed attempts just gave up. Fast forward 10 months later while on a trip to Europe rattling down the streets of Dubrovnik the telescopic tube assembly fails completely; pulling apart at one of the joints. The release mechanism was giving some problems in the previous weeks randomly jamming open.. which didnt surprise me given how loose the internals seem to be. When the thing finally broke I had to resort to tying a scarf around the handle and pulling it around.. for two weeks more!! The other main complaint I have about this bag is that the corners are not sufficiently protected. It would have been easy to mount some plastic corner plates on the bottom half but they didnt do it and trust me, it will get frayed and scuffed on your first trip outside of a car trunk.
