> 3 dayI bought this becuase my sister had no idea what wire led to which room in her house. You hook one end up to the wire outside and the beeper end to any room (or vice versa) and start testing. Of course it takes two people (one at each location) but you will soon be able to label your wires accordingly. I even tested it on a coax that was 600 feet long and the signal had no problem traveling down the wire. Great little tool.

> 3 dayIt didnt come with any basic instructions but once I got the jist of it i was able to check my coax so much faster! Good price for what i need. Much easier than messing with a volt meter.

> 3 dayThis device saved me hours of work and helped me complete an enormous home re-cabling project! I would recommend a special packaging note about no signal trace through splitters. This is the top tool I will always have when dealing with coax cabling!

Greater than one weekThis item works great. I had to figure out how to put the battery in but that was the only issue. After you remove the sounding element, you still have to twist off the remaining battery enclosure ( it has a gripping pattern) to insert the battery. Once I got the battery in it did the job intended

> 3 dayI usually use a Klein scout to tone/test coax but this tool comes in handy for toneing wires quickly. The press on connection makes it a breeze to click through multiple wires to find the one your looking for. It doesnt replace a full blown tester/generated but at the price its worth adding to your tool bag.

> 3 dayOnly complaint is that it came without any instructions what so ever.

> 3 dayI have not gotten a clear response to a question about this, but it looks like it doesnt work well through splitters. It seems to be just a DC circuit tester, but I really cant tell. Ive got cables in my RV that I know are connected and quite possibly through a splitter but this device shows the circuit as being open.

Greater than one weekHad to play with how tight the battery was screwed in to make it work, once I figured that out I was able to use it on 15 coax in my house
